Wow, a pretty good video! A few info missing here and there and a few points could have been elaborated but overall still a good effort. Even My Chaiyo Ultraman video have a few missing information in it and this one has the benefit of the latest info which concludes the whole case.

​@@goji04Bad news, looks like after Bluearc... I am warning you. To this day UMC has been licensing new illegal ultraman merch under the Classic Ultraman branding. This was done with contracting several toy companies in China, and now what I found is very shocking indeed. It was... UM Corporation/Ultramega Corp/Chaiyo licensed Alpha Audley Group (chinese toy company) to create UMC Ultraman Merch even crossed over with Alpha's own brand Infinity Nado Sword. What if UMC demanded Alpha Audley (since they have an animation studio too) to create their own bootleg ultraman which will worsen the situation??? I am worried that this possibility will also ruin Alpha Audley's reputation as a company, much like Bluearc.

​@@goji04Part 2: Since Alpha Group is a very big company in China, much like Bluearc. They were trustworthy when it comes to their toyline and brands. I find their collaboration with UMC/Chaiyo somewhat infuriating. So far I know UMC's collab with Alpha Audley only lets Audley create UMC Ultraman merch, like Infinity Nado Sword with UMC Ultraman theme, along with fidget spinners. These products somehow received good reviews from online stores like Taobao, this is a result of UMC's deceptive tactics in promoting their merch. It even resulted in some good ultraman fans in china buying them without knowing these were licensed by UMC. As if they're blindly supporting UMC via buying their merch. I'd wish this another legal battle will end with UMC/Chaiyo's final defeat, being gone bankrupt for good.

One note, the battle is not over yet since UMC & their agents are active to this day. They're still trying to follow Chaiyo's footsteps with bringing more UMC licensed merch, hosting stage shows organized by UMC, and more

Sampote Sans is literally Ken Penders from Thailand just somehow crazier. He worked with a company on some projects for their franchise back in the day, and then claimed ownership over not just the content that he had but also stilted what they could put out

This legal battle also prevented Ultraman from appearing in the theatrical adaptation of Ready Player One. Director Steven Spielberg wanted Ultraman in his movie, but had to settle for the Iron Giant.

This is like the most infuriating part of the whole deal, Tsubaraya were more than happy to let them use Ultraman, it was Chaiyo that said no.

The crazy part of this is that a clearly fake, one-page contract, which doesn't even specify the details of the supposed agreement, was accepted as authentic in Japan because it had the seal ("hanko") of Tsuburaya. While seals can easily be forged and are often stollen, Japanese courts treat them as sacred truth that cannot be challeneged. And so, ironically, it was only the Japanese court system that gave credence to this idiocy.

A legal headache but a satisfying one indeed and with Sompote Sands' death, it's a shame...seeing his Magic Lizard, he could have gotten over Ultraman and do something similar. Indie tokus are red hot and interesting topics though he could have made something similar to Magic Lizard or make something new and original similar to Ultraman and Jumborg Ace. I feel pity for him.

@@goji04 honestly that fits really well. if he'd maybe had a bit less success early on he might have went a different way and ended up one of the greats. he wasnt bad at his craft but with the extra fame prestiege and money from hanuman and the crossover he just seemed to lose himself. i'm sure it happens more often than we'd realize just in this case it was to someone that had earned a positive name for himself first. : ( . it's big sad really.

Well, Tsuburaya did not market the first six Ultra series outside of Japan, as Chaiyo claimed they had the rights to those. I'm not sure if Chaiyo tried to distribute the other series in Thailand, or if they ever came out in Thailand.
