Chi blocking is an ancient technique that has been practiced in secret for centuries. Blocking someone's chi renders the victim's muscles useless and temporarily disables a bender's abilities. It is mainly used by nonbenders as a way of self-defense or even to attack. This ability was notably used in combat by Ty Lee, the Kyoshi Warriors, Thod and his disciples, the Equalists, and Tokuga.

If youre a good bender you can just block them from blocking your chi its easy altough it would take years of practise to properly do this since most chi blockers are really fast and agile

But my comment was sarcastic in nature about how people constantly complain how only a few people should be able to lightning bend even though we only saw Mako and like 3 others perform it and how lava bending should have remained something only the avatar could do and how metal bending became so common even though it was stated at only 1 out of a hundred earthbender can use metal. Not to mention that it was taught by the very person who invented the art of metal bending. And how Korra the *Avatar* shouldn't have learned it according to the "fans". That depends on the material of the armor. If it’s clothing they’re more likely to be chi blocked. Don’t forget the Kyoshi Warriors are non-benders. I think for certain benders that do wear armor for example Azula. I remember she wore armor made of different material, and depending how her armor is made. If you watched all books of last air bender. Ty-Lee chi blocked Azula with her armor on, but if a fire bender or an earth bender wore armor of different material immune to chi blocking. I think her hands would hurt.
