To be a Chancellor of the Galactic Republic was a massive undertaking for any individuals, and with that comes abilities to take on that massive challenge. Some individuals are forgotten by the populace the moment step foot in their position, others are remembered as example both good and bad leaders, and others are so important they are remembered as legendary heroes who save the Galaxy by their actions.

Part of me really wishes we got a deeper look into the Republic's politics following Saresh's appointment as Chancellor. SWTOR managed to create such a compelling story for the politics of the Sith Empire, and the focus they gave its leadership (Darth Marr in particular) was a highlight, but I think it was a huge missed opportunity to not try and do the same with the Republic and even the Jedi itself.

I don't think there's many known beyond Valorum, Palpatine and Lina Soh. We know that there will be the dual chancellors in THR phase 2 but that's about it.

Taking the cathedral ships and just letting them go in hyperspace with their crews?!! Holy shit that’s not just brutal that’s just evil! Hyperspace is another dimension entirely, it’s basically the Star Wars version of the warp (though less hellish but still awful) so… yeah I think I’d rather take on any sith ever with only a combat knife instead thanks republic.

I do have a question; how did Palpatine win a Third Term? Chancellors, AFAIK, could serve for two terms, of four years each. Palpatine's first term started in 32 BBY, (or like January 31 BBY, if they mirror the US Presidents- though in that specific case, he probably served the end of Valorum's term, so started a few months early), so he should've been term limited in 24 BBY. Given that the Clone Wars hadn't started, and frankly, the Raxus Address or even the beginnings on the Separatist Crisis wouldn't be a big enough threat to overrule a Constitutional Amendment- and since we didn't see the Senate giving the Chancellor Emergency Powers (the Emergency Powers Act, I presume) until Jar-Jar did so in Episode II, which should've been two years after Palps was no longer Chancellor, something... doesn't add up. (And even then, that seems like a rather quick feat, given that one of the complaints was that bureaucracy gummed up the Republic Senate so that nothing could get done.)
