Honestly, I think the lack of gore in the first film, along with there being no reason for the murders, make it infinitely better than the sequels.
@rogerrambo41722 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was genuinely terrified when I saw it for the first time as a kid because it was so creepy seeing this pale faced man just following & watching Jamie Lee. Before a single murder was shown. That scene of the inmates at the mental asylum OUTSIDE engaged in some weird ritual still terrifies me & it is on screen for barely 2 seconds.

Halloween is my favorite and to see someone grow and remember how they remember growing up with the movies has me going down memory lane as well (aka i also was able to rent Halloween curse and watched John strodes head explode MANY times.) 616Entertainment... yes the house is different and doesn't even resemble the Myers house........if even part of it resembled it then I would say at some point over the years someone was brave enough to buy and live in the home and changed the design of it.. we know in Real life sometimes you add new rooms for a home you live in...........for example my childhood home when we moved out a year later I drove past the home and the owner added a second story to the home which was not there when we lived in it.

Thank you for pronouncing 'Samhain' correctly. I always had this weird problem with "Dude, you're an actor from the U.K., how did you get this wrong?" I swear, "Halloween III" is actually my favorite of these films,, because I love how Orwellian Santa Mira is, it somehow became part of the franchise despite NO Michael Myers, The Silver Shamrock pumpkin mask is great, and Conal Chochran was played by one of my favorite 'hardly ever see him' actors who, being Irish, completely nails the pronunciation of 'Samhain' and it IS the night in Celtic Mythology that has a great deal to do with Halloween. It has alway been the night when 'the walls grow thin' between the worlds. It also is the ritual that honors the end of the harvest and the 'dark death' of the world (winter) which will be reborn in the Spring. (which was the original season in which New Year's was celebrated -- welcoming back the birth of leaves on the trees, grass growing, a time for planting and growing. It has NOTHING to do with horror, witchcraft or crazy psycho murders, but at least he pronounced it perfectly.) I spend a lot of time wondering who taught Michael how to drive. Plus it's weird as hell and it's ending is just a doomsday you never see the aftermath of. It's weirdly great. The Silver Shamrock jingle will drive you insane all on its own.

I've always been a casual Halloween fan myself (the first movie is too slow for me on repeat viewings) but I've always loved doing deep dives into the various timelines and alternate routes they've taken with the story and characters. It's hilarious and entertaining in a chaotic way how many times the filmmakers change their minds about things with these movies, always fascinates me. Personally I would have loved an anthology approach after the 3rd film of just different Halloween related stories each year, they don't have to all be about Michael because then the franchise can become cookie-cutter and stale. For example I love the movie Trick r Treat and that itself is an anthology movie, basically 4 short stories in 1 night.

I remember the time I watched the first movie. It was the on,y movie that really made me scared. I watched it on my portable TV. I think it was a black and white TV. This was when the first one came out. The exercise I saw with my buddy who lives a few blocks down the street maybe a less than five minute walk. We watched it on his portable TV in his backyard by the pool because it had a plug and we were on Long’s jewelers watching it and that really scared me and then I had to walk home like I said just five houses up maybe but I was looking all around me every little sound because the movie scared the bejeebers out of me.!

Very good choices for video game music. I remember Castlevania Bloodlines, good game.

Lovin the Wrestling references too. BRILLIANT. Halloween 5 is an ABOMINATION. Totally agree with you.

This will be definitely be a very fun Halloween. I cannot wait for Halloween Ends, as I plan to watch it with my brother, alongside the OG Halloween as October 31st approaches closer. After watching this entire series, let’s just say I’m definitely becoming a fan, and I want to say, thank you, Ian. Your top quality is always amazing and I can’t stress how much I LOVE learning about stuff you teach from these “History of”s. Super cool. Can’t wait for the rest of your Halloween content, Ian. See you then.😁👍

This was such a great watch! Took me a few days, but I finally got it done! I actually haven’t seen all of these movies but this is one of my favorite horror franchises and I love to watch videos like this so that when I do get around to watching them, my expectations are set so that I can just focus on what the movies are and not what they aren’t. I will definitely be tuning into more videos on your channel!

Man I find it completely weird and crazy that what you did as a child when you were hanging out with friends or getting ready for Halloween is just exactly what I did as well I also filmed my own 3 minute Halloween movie with my neighbors and my sisters lol …. I also would Dress up and I would act certain scenes out with Family or friends …. As well as draw pictures and what not …. It’s like you had the same childhood as I had brother. So I’m grateful to have gotten to listen to your Halloween complete history of the series. You were awesome at telling the franchises story brother. You have found your calling Dan Man !
