Despite of all of this, Yanqing was my first 5* and he carried me along with Seele back in 1.0 MoC. He remained as my DPS until I got Jing Yuan and Clara. After that, he graduated from my teams and never used him again. One thing I could say is that he is a good early game character, he can help new players to progress quite significantly in the story with barely any effort at all.

Yanqing was the character i was most excited for when i first started playing the game. I got him day one on the beginner banner on my first try, no rerolls, as my first five star. I couldn't have been happier. He was the first character i leveled to max, he carried me through the early game, and he is absolutely the only chance I had to 3 star Aventurine in MOC, which btw, I did. Yanqing got me to where I am today and despite his flaws, despite all the things he requires to perform, (Massive shields, tons of skill points, Tingyun/Ruan Mei/Some other hypercarry support) I will always stand by him. I skipped Jing Liu because I have Yanqing. I do not regret it at all. Is he easy to use? No. Is he easy to build? No. DOES HE TWO SHOT MOST ENEMIES THAT AREN'T BOSSES? FUCK YEAH HE DOES!!!

I'm hoping that Aventurine will make Yanqing at least useable again. They do synergize pretty well with each other, Yanqing has follow up atks to give Aventurine stacks faster, and Aventurine's shields are so strong that Yanqing can have his soulsteel buff at 100% uptime.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention his now best sustain, Aventurine. With Aventurine, Yanqing taking any damage is no longer an issue and this MoC with boss Aven, he counters him incredibly easy. If this video was in progress before Aventurine’s release then ignore my above message as this video is right. If it was worked post Aven then the 2 pair handsomely together. After using the pair together, I have nothing against Yanqing anymore and would be alright for more copies of him.

Aventurine’s shield refreshes constantly so his duration is perfect and him having more than one way to get a shield is a great addition and extra security for Yanqing

As a big Yanqing fan I pull only for characters that help him and their eidelons/lightcones I got e2s1 Ruan Mei i Got e2s1 Aventurine I plan on getting e2s1 Sparkle (she's e0 for now) and I plan on getting anything good that will be for him Hoyoverse made a character I love so damn much, his personality, his story, he gives me will to live. And I hate being harassed for liking Yanqing. I hope they will release Abundance 5* limited Yanqing in the future, as there is a lot of hope for that thanks to Abundance Yanqing theory Yanqing is so damn important to me, he's not just a character. Numbers are not important, what is important is enjoying the game.

I honestly think people are overblowing how bad Yanqing really is, putting him in D tier is honestly crazy, I feel like he was always B or AT WORST C tier. He still does good damage and his main issue is just keeping up his sync state. With aventurine now I feel like this is even less of an issue since his shielding is more consistent than Gepard. On another note I do think Ruan Mei was a great buff to Yanqing and did do a LOT to address issues of enemies hitting him since faster break = easier to freeze the enemies with ice break and the fact that they remain broken for longer gives yanqing more of an opportunity to refreeze.

I have him E1, I got him from the Beginner banner and Standard Banner but have never Lost a 50/50 to him. I have lost a 50/50 to Himeko, Welt, Gepard, Clara, Bailu, and Bronya (Bronya's the Only unit I have lost the 50/50 too twice) (She's E2 currently cuz I used 300 selector on her). Throughout all of the pulls I have done in HSR from the SW banner to the Aventurine Banner. (Though I have never lost a 50/50 to Yanqing) Which I don't think will last forever but cool I guess.

Now, he spooks me in my 50/50 losses and now I have him at E3. @@jerryeljeremy7790 ​he's definitely not as bad as people think. his damage can be high but he needs gepard or aventurine to function. not everyone has these units and even with them he is worse than dr. ratio, who was given out for free and synergizes with many upcoming and current characters. his eidolons are also terrible, so getting copies of him means nothing unlike other standards such as welt or clara. he might be better in the future with apocalyptic shadow coming in 2.3 but right now he is not worth the investment. overall, he's just okay.

​@@inazuma7792 Only his E4 and E6 are really good, and his E6 still is a conditional eidolon with you having to knock out the opponent for the extended buff. Yanqing's eidolons are bad not because they're actually terrible. If they were on a different unit they'd be fine. The issue is that his eidolons don't really do enough to fix his issues. Crit buffs behind high Ult cost has E2 and E6 to help but 10% energy regen barely changes anything with his rotation unless you get enough of his rng FuAs and E6 requires a knock out. Speaking of his rng FuAs, his eidolons do nothing to help with that. If he had a eidolon where his chance of landing a FuA was increased like how Gepard's Frozen chance is increased to a base 100% on his skill, that'd be good. But then again the two aren't exactly the same as Yanqing's is fixed while Gepard's is base chance so not the most balanced comparison but you get my point. And lastly the high skill points consumption and lack of turn advance. For a Hunt unit, Yanqing feels very sluggish to play even when compared to the four stars. He can only rely on his speed and teammates for extra turns/attacks. For example, Sushang has action advance in her base kit and Dan Heng has one from his E4. But Yanqing's eidolons do nothing for him in this aspect. The fact that he has to spam his skill and greatly loses out on damage if not is a big issue too. Another Ice character who benefits from using his skill often is Misha, and he has a skill point regeneration ability tied to his Ultimate to counteract the skill spam.

I don't understand Mihoyo's reluctance on buffing characters, that would fix a lot of problems v1.0 characters have vs the currently released ones (like seele's dmg mods). Games like FGO even lock the buffs behind story content, sure that's not ideal, but it's a good method to incentivize players and it gives a sense of future proofing

Mihoyo does buff characters but only in hi3rd and it’s still pretty rare for them to buff the really old characters. Like bronya HoR and Mei HoT got buffed by of the new signature weapon hoyo gave them and it literally had to change the character’s skill and without the new weapons they are practically useless.

Tbf, FGO buffs took years to implement, and even now in NA we don't have all of them.. If Mihoyo, however, decides to follow the same/similar example to FGO and have Interlude/Rank-Up quests for older units, I'm guessing the same amount of time would pass before that's ever even considered. @@lilie4575 jingliu dmg is consistent because nothing can take you out of the enhanced state simply activate and deal your dmg 2-3 turns (which is also quite consistent) Yangqing relies on a lot of rng: Dont take any dmg of any form to hp.(Easier said than done,with you relyingon either gepard or aventurine two 5 stars you don't or do have and also dont instantly solve the problem cause if you move to fast in gepards case or get attacked with too many st attacks in aventurines case). 65% FUA chance (which holds a good portion of dmg). Ult buff also relies on you not getting hit and lasts 1 turn. Jingliu is not a nuker because most of your times is and should be spent in the enhanced state which lasts a good while yangqing has 1 turn of a massive multiplier that is also heavily rng dependent at that. Gepard has nothing to do with yangqing being bad and he is not the best pure defense character it's aventurine: Higher shield due to stacking. Can refresh off skill and FUA. And a case can be made that Fu xuan is a better defense character for any team that doesn't include yanqing or arlan.

On release I got him from begginer's banner and then lost 50/50 to him a week or two later, so I was pissed off to the point of considering creating a new account and even dropping the game for another 2-3 weeks. I mean instead of getting units I really wanted (Selee, Bronya, Clara, Gepard, Bailu) I got him twice in a row, so it's like a personal curse to me ever since. And even after hitting lvl65 and wasting a lot of resin on him, his damage still was of a wet noodle

Yanqing might not be strong per se, but he's a lot more comfortable to use now than he used to be. Aventurine's shield is so thick you can pretty much brute force most fights. For anyone lacking jingliu, he's an acceptable ice dps.

when i first started playing, i really wanted yanqing bc i liked him a lot as a character. and then i got him, made him my main immediately, and then got jing yuan. the moment i did, my yanqing usage decreased significantly, and then i got acheron, lowering the yanqing usage rate to zero. but i do have to give credit where credit is due - yanqing carried me all throughout early game. he was a good character then, and even with the shittiest of builds (i have no clue on how to build characters in this game tbh) he was still an alright unit.

I still use Yanqing a lot, he feels pretty good in a Sparkle Bronya Aventurine team. Better than Jing Yuan at least. I'm the type who only pulls for characters I like, and most of the characters I like are male characters - so I don't have access to Silver Wolf or Jingliu or even Ruan Mei. Designs like Ruan Mei or Black Swan make me uncomfortable. It's unfortunate how much the game gates power behind pulling for limited waifus in a game that markets itself to both. I'm glad they released Aventurine at least and that Dhil was overturned for his time or I'd be in huge trouble (and probably drop the game).

the beta becuase its a beta shouldent have a dang gacha sstem unless had limited pulls and your simply reset after beta is done, shouldent they just give access to ALL carractors but maby put a timer on some them to FORCE peaople to test other charractors? and maby the timer also wears off after using other chars a while.

I have a team specifically for Yanqing, I call it the don't touch me team, ensuring maximum shield and aggro away from Yanqing, I have better options, but sometimes I prefer using something normal and it's great to have more options for Simulated universe

I have him e1 and paired with Ruan Mei and Gepard he worked for me for a couple of months, but my biggest issue with him is the rng aspect. The fact that I'm losing out on extra damage that I have to go out of my way for a *40% chance* to not activate his follow up is insane to me. If his traces leveled up the chance by 2% instead of 1% that alone would make him way better. The only reason I was even able to get him to work is his absolutely insane crit rate, that I only have one substat for crit rate. Outside of some really niche situations though? Never use him anymore. I use Clara more than I use him.

I think that boss mode wont help yanqing and just boost dr ratio even further instead, cos follow up attacks have a lot better supports rn with robin aventurine and jade coming next, and before even thinking about beating ratio he still has jingliu, seele, and boothill to worry about because all of these characters have better synergies with the new supports (seele w monoquantum, JL is just better yanqing, and boothill with harmony MC and ruan mei) so i dont think yanqing is gonna be good again like ever 😭

What would be cool is, imagine HSR introduces aging mechanic and in some time, say 1 year later Yangqing gets a new version of himself as an adult, with better kit and all players who have him to get the option to switch between his child and adult version, like how we can switch the trailblazer... Maan one can dream 😅😅

I had him in the 2nd Beta and, even then, I found his damage laughable. The 2 characters I found to be the worst day 1 there, well atleast day 1 when the game came out, were Yanqing and Arlan. And those are to this day the worst 2 in the game. And quite frankly, I am not even sure there is a simple way to fix those two. Their kits just don't work in this game at all, and they are only getting worse over time

i wasn't around at the time but i heard that at the time his shield is barely stronger than Diona's shield, and it resisted geo damage. i also heard that you have to choose between shielding or Pillaring. and worst of all pre buff ZL is interruptable, and with animations that long that's gonna be a pain in the butt to get the shield.

Gacha communities never change and it cracks me up :,D Everyone's yapping the same shit ad infinitum as if there's "the best way to play" these games. I just played break teams (along with DoT from Kafka's debut) since the game's launch week without ever caring any of this meta bullshit. Sushang and Xueyi still clear MoC 12 with ease when properly built and supported, although bringing DoT Acheron & Black Swan, F-up e4 Bronya and Critka is pretty fun way to beat new floors too. If I had Yanqing (the game keeps giving me Bronyas and her light cones....) I'd try F-up permafreeze. A lot of SPD and EHR with the new Penacony relics, SPD based SimUni rope and sphere along with that one Hunt light cone which noone ever uses ("Subscribe for more"?) since Yanqing's ultimate wouldn't contribute much towards freezing enemies anyway.

@@kariomartt seele only need 180 pull (if you very unlucky) to get, while u need to gamble 1/7 to get yanqing in event banner and standar banner. of course seele is limited so you can still say yanqing is easier to obtain, but even if the event banner dont have seele, it have more usefull dps than yanqing
