Anyone else think Liberia should count as Americas chunk of Africa whenever “independent map of Africa during the 1800s.” Are made? Because it always feels disingenuous to say their “independent” when their so heavily reliant on the US for funds, weapons, and people.

But that's what exactly what it's not the definition of a colony, the US helped the new state to take of so the flux of goods was from the metropolis to the "colony", so exactly the opposite to what happened to the rest of Africa at the time .

This is all America's fault bruv, brought slaves from America to an African country with no idea what to do next, the african american slaves beefed with the native africans there as if they're not on their land, literally places in Liberia being named after states in America (most likely because that's where the African American slaves came from), and than did nothing in helping the country, they literally said "just wanted to drop off some slaves". And it's ironic watching Americans in their privileged society and country give Liberia negative attention while Liberians look up to them.
