MS Vista was ahead of it's time because it demanded more hardware for support than was customarily available. It highlighted how much the computer manufacturer's were screwing the consumers. The new APIs that directed more graphical information directly to the GPUs was the first of its kind and later drawn back in 7 just a bit. EDIT: Also the lack of drivers was from the huge mandatory push towards 64 bit where WinXP did not have support as a mandatory requirement. Thanks to Vista, we have a more powerful processor that take more info at a time that later rolled down to our mobile phones... including our iPhones made by Apple.

@cryptic1287 жыл бұрын
EmBoLabe They weren't dominating at all tbh for the early life of 7th gen Xbox 360 vastly outsold PS3 but mid way through it kind of balanced and then PS3 pushed slightly ahead even though that meant Sony didn't get as much money as Xbox sold more early
@2EXTREME20087 жыл бұрын
The PS3 was outselling the 360 in Europe. The 360 was outselling the PS3 in the States. The PS3 Stomped out the 360 in the Japanese Market Currently, their sales are neck-and-neck as far as PS3 vs 360 goes but the 360 DID have a strong lead throughout the first four years of its life, almost outselling it 2-1. If anything, worldwide sales wise, the PS3 might just be slightly ahead at this point.
@effeKtSVK7 жыл бұрын
that's true and I think I know why... back in the days of PS1 and PS2 there were no original Xboxes in the Europe and everyone grew in love with the PS series, I know this because almost all my friends told me when I asked why they like PS3 that they are already used to the PS and that they had PS1/PS2 or both so I think that's it... People don't like changes, which is sad :D I had an Xhox 360 but unfortunately the fat version so I got the RROD :/ still love it tho and I would choose Xbox over PS anytime

saattvik thourwal I use windows 7, 8, and 8.1 just not 10 once you realize Microsoft is still using the NT kernel that it's used since 1993 for NT 3.1 codenamed Daytona just updated a bit current kernel is NT 10 by the way it gets a bit strange the reason they haven't changed the kernel is to maintain backwards compatibility well that and it's simpler for them to add to or subtract from an existing operating system than it is to build it from scratch kernel and all Vista and 7 were basically the same thing only thing that changed was they removed some of the bloatware and changed a few security settings then renamed it

Same here. Although there are valid reasons why someone would not like Apple,(i.e not allowing users to upgrade storage/RAM on laptops) most only hate them because they can't afford their products.
@legostarwarsrulez7 жыл бұрын
eh, i used to be an apple hater, and i still see why people dislike them (and why i specifically hate the macbook air. 900p TN panel on a 2017 flagship ultrabook, wth apple), but other than that if you put raw specs aside and look at their products as a whole, the machines apple makes are incredibly good, with usually only one or two drawbacks at most. besides price, the only real downsides to apple machines are (arguably) the operating systems they use, and the lack of upgradability. but if somehow you are able to get a fully specced out apple device, you can expect it to last you years and years, with its excellent build quality and quality control. i just recently upgraded from my iPhone 4, which still works fine, i just needed a higher quality camera and the tiny screen annoyed me. one of my friends still uses his 2005 macbook. I've never had a laptop last 5 years, let alone 12.
@luisperez39687 жыл бұрын
MacBook last because they lack of client software that demands high CPU, their software it's usually a stripped down version, I can run Police Quest on my 286 computer for 20 years without any issue, again it's not the computer that last longer it's the new software that demands you a new computer.
@legostarwarsrulez7 жыл бұрын
this is true, although it also depends on the optimization of said software. macOS and iOS can be specially optimized for a select few products and hardware configurations, meaning it can run smoother for longer on said hardware, whereas windows has to be developed for basically every x86/x64 architecture chip ever made, and android has to be developed for almost every ARM chip ever made. so its not so much a stripped down operating system as much as its better optimized for the hardware. there's not a whole lot windows 10 and android can do that macOS/iOS can't do. and i wouldn't call apple's tech underpowered either, it uses the same chips as windows on the computer side of things, and apple's custom SOCs have insane single core performance, enough to outmatch even flagship Qualcomm chips in the vast majority of tests and benchmarks.

Hustonovich i have a cool program you should try. I don't like the Windows 10 interface, or the constant updates either. There might be a good registry hack for updates, but to make the GUI better, try Classicshell. You can make Windows look however you want, such as any taskbar design, custom start button and menu, GUI for IE (if you use it, i don't) and some explorer tweaks. You should try it before it goes fully unsupported (the next bad Windows 10 update might render it useless) Here is a link: www.classicshell.org The file size is 6 MB but it can do so much I can't do anything about privacy though :/
@seanwallawallasecondchanne6826 жыл бұрын

You forgot to mention Microsoft's cloud service Azure. Microsoft is gradually shifting the revenue source from traditional desktop PC to the cloud.

I am using vista for almost a decade now. Although the harddrive seemed to work all the time (I mean, literally, ALL the time - even when I am doing nothig in the laptop !!) and ultra-slow booting of my laptop, I haven't have any issues af all. I've used it pretty regularly without much of a hitch, sometimes doing really demandings tasks. It crashed only once in all these years. That was due to erroneous behaviour of my antivirus program while performing registry scan (registry scan is a horrible idea, guys and girls; do not use it unless absolutely necessary). I really do not know why did it (the vista) got abhorred by everybody.

7:09 - I don't get the hate around Bing. It's my favorite search engine. I don't understand why people bash it even in this video they use an outdated photo instead of the most current version of Bing. A lot of people don't know, but years ago Bing (or one of the many names it had at the time) implemented search features well before Google added the same features (some would say "COPIED"). I know this because I used to search on them both before sticking with Bing.

i love windows 10 but i hate it at the same time, its a solid OS but the fact they keep trying to shove edge and bing and i cannot get rid of certain parts of the OS like Cortana and edge is frustrating

I mean windows phone never got as popular as android but I do remember discussing about that with people whereas zune is pretty much unheard of. I don't think windows phone was a failure it's just that it was less popular than android.

Probably a big reason why Windows 7 is still the most use Windows OS right now is because almost all computers used by the US government run on Windows 7. That's a very large number of PCs. Ever since I personally upgraded to Windows 10 for gaming, I will never look back to older OS's.

Windows 7 on my PC and my Zune HD are two things I use daily. The way I see it, those are two things that Microsoft did exceptionally well. I was very disappointed when I heard about the discontinuation of the Zune.

I moved to Windows 3.1 from IBM PC OS2 because it was told to do so. I became a huge Windows/Microsoft fan over the years with all the new "toys" at my disposal and to also to move away from conservative IBM, the people who always wore dark suites. What REALLY pissed my of big time in all those years with Microsoft was the UI of Windows 8. When I installed Windows 8 I couldn't believe my eyes. Were they fucking crazy. I didn't know how it worked and on top that it was just plain shit. I immediately changed my UI back to the the Windows 7 UI with a tool I found on the internet. The users were up in arms because nobody knew how Win 8 worked and couldn't do their daily tasks. I sent the techies to go around and change all the IUs. That fiasco cost Steven Sinofsky his job.
