When I was a kid, I had not heard any of the Error Macro rumors, so when I first saw the character in whatever version of MK3 he debuted in, my first thought was "Man, what kinda dorky-ass name is Ermac?!"

If Liu Kang had recreated the universe where sorcery and the supernatural didn’t exist, and there was science and technology instead, Ermac probably would’ve have been some type of AI life form like Brainiac, something like Nimrod, or something like Bastion in X-Men 97.

It seems that the power of a Titan has limits though, they don't really create the universe or its rules. They just restart the clock and put the pieces together. Otherwise Kronika would've just erased Liu Kang and Raiden right away. But she kept restarting over and over because she kept failing at creating her perfect universe. Magic and sorcery seem to be part of the universe's fabric.

honestly, the newest version of ermac is the best now. before he was pretty generic evil dude, now he's got a purpose in the plot, and the promise of Jerrick becoming a new kombatant in the next game.

I think a not evil Ermac in this timeline is interesting, or sometimes like Mileena he loses control. Great video, only thing that bothered me is the mispronunciation of Reiko, normally not something I'd be that bothered by but every time you click on him in the games the game literally says his name.

MK4 pronounces it "Reeko", MK1 pronounces it "Ray-ko." Pick the one you like
