This episode is all about the history of Northwood House and Hospital.
Oh supposedly it’s also really haunted but the only thing that haunts me from this building is my college mates farts.

Thanks for the history of Northwood. I am certain I used to deliver daily papers there in the 60's when I worked for Siddals newsagents. Siddals was located in Higher Buxton near the Swan. Your videos bring back so many memories of times in the past and illustrate how the town has developed. My life started at Woodlands on the Manchester Road and we moved to Burbage in 1957. Like you I spent huge amounts of time exploring old quarries and industrial sites. Lightwood was an all time favourite of mine and I havs fond memories of blueberry pie and a whiskey at Harry Allen's farm behind Corbar Cross. Keep going Leo;; you're doing a great job.

Thank you so much I really appreciate this, I love Northwood a lot and already know pretty much everything there is to know about it’s history minus some gaps. Northwood is my dream home except I have learned to know that there is an allegation in place to stop people from sleeping overnight in it for whatever reason and I know it has recently sold so I am just hoping that the person who has bought it doesn’t do anything to drastic to it but it is in the park conservation area so hopefully it’ll be okay👍 I can’t dictate to them what they do with it because at the end of the day they’ve bought it except I hope some day I could buy it off them when I have the money and I’m still 2 years off the buying age but hopefully that will pass quickly even though I won’t be able to put an offer in right away I’ll try my best. I know there is a lot of issues that need to be overcome but I will find a way round it, if I had it today I’d try and get some of the pictures and what’s left back to people but that’s not in my power🥲 I feel like this is a pretty impossible dream but I can try, I would love to see the building to its very best again well taken care of, it breaks my heart to even think about what it may be turned into but I know I shouldn’t obsess of this kind of thing and let it go if need be because it is only setting myself up for disappointment🙂 it will always have a special place in my heart though and I would also like to say thank you on behalf of a lot of people who went there and don’t see this video because this will of brought back a lot of memories for them good and bad but ye thank you very much I hope you are doing good and achieve everything you want to in life😎❤️✨
