*Thanks for the history briefing.* This Sanctuary had need for excellent acoustics, having preceded modern electronic recording technology by better than two centuries. As one of the most powerful voices at _my_ home congregation, OMS Japanese Christian Church (Walnut Creek, CA, USA), I can sound through the much smaller Shinoda Hall unassisted by the Peavey audio rig there; were I a guest reader at Christ Church, I'm certain I'd have no problem sounding from any point in the Chancel and being understood all the way back to the Gallery. (Of course, the pulpit is well-placed for intelligibility in all pews and capped with a sounding board, an acoustic touch from the Renaissance that's still used to this day in some areas.)
