There's a huge difference between the selfless self nominations and the giving up self nominations. I find it really frustrating that at some point in the show Ramsay switched away from respecting those who nominated themselves. Sometimes it's neither selfless nor giving up, it's just an admission that they could have performed better, and I don't think those people always deserve to go home.
@brancor6182 ай бұрын
I think part of it is that it appears that Ramsey changed what he asked for in nominations at some point as in early seasons he just asked for nominations and why while in the later ones he says who are the weakest links and why. So it looks worse to nominate yourself as the weakest link on your team than it does to nominate yourself without that attached.
@tallyikroe24762 ай бұрын
In a lot of those cases, there was a palpable reason they self nominated themselves and in that case it made chefs like Petrozza more respectable because of the context. while in other cases in more modern day, nominating yourself can show to gordon that you are not ready for a head chefs position. the exception is when chefs would nominate themselves all the damn time in Season 21. because the vibe of that season was a lot of chefs were actively taking accountability for their actions. especially on the Blue Team, Red team is mixed (except for Nicoles Nomination which that was completely fair. no way in hell that was BS when Gordon asked for the 3 weakest members. Nicole was never good at all and their argument was actually more sound then anything. Except for Alyssa's reason for nominating Nicole)

Example: Kevin in season 15; made that Caesar salad pizza as his signature dish, I don't think he got many dishes out during services and had the brutal elimination during a service. But there was a challenge where I think they had to made potstickers or dumplings in pairs and Ramsey was pleased with him and Joe's end result.

Flynn, I think you need to rewatch Kalen's elimination episode. Kalen - ELIMINATED- 20 mistakes, 17 mistakes in service (chicken, pork, overcooked and dry pasta with mussels in the pass, long times, pasta station delayed kitchen, overloaded and needed help, different times, communication, appears to be cooking in first gear, said she did well, was eliminated because she lives in a dream world thinking that every dish she sent was perfect)

Yeah, I seriously don’t get why Flynn still insists Kalen did well that night.
