The History of the '59 Ford
The top-line spot for 1959 was the new Galaxie, positioned above the continued Fairlane 500. The Custom line was dropped, with Custom 300 the lowest rung on the ladder, and all 1959 Fords used the long 118 in (2997 mm) wheelbase. New for safety was fully padded armrests and rear door locks that were child proof.[12] American prices ranged from the mid-1,000 to the low 3,000s.
This version was also assembled in Australia, beginning in late 1959. Local models were the luxurious Fairlane 500, the lower-priced Custom 300 (both sedans), as well as the Ranch Wagon.[13] The Australian models were powered by the 332 cu in (5.4 L) "Thunderbird" engine, producing 204 hp.[13] For 1960, the range was updated with the grille and trim from the 1959 Canadian Meteor.[14]

A fella in Waterloo, IA had a '59 Ford. It was a fine car. Even provided a ride to and from a ballgame. It likely lasted him 11 years or better. His oldest son may have been given that Ford Galaxie as his first car.

Probably FE. They mention fluid for the Cruise-O-Matic transmission. That transmission was coupled to the FE. The old Ford-O-Matic was coupled to to older series Y Block.

@@Al-thecarhistorian No, I have a 292 Y-block in my Galaxy and it came factory with the Cruise-o-Matic 3 speed auto. It even says "Cruise-o-Matic" on the shifter column.

Video is mistitled. There is no history of the '59 Ford, and there isn't a '59 Ford in the video at all. The car in the video is a 1958 Ford, and the video is about Mobil gas and lubricants. Very disappointing as I was counting on the title of the video.
