This is another chance to see the classic Amiga History video from 1992. If you want to see this in full resolution and high quality, the video can be purchased with the full Amiga Forever package from Cloanto.
There are many sources of this video on youtube, and on the internet, and this is a copy of one of those copies. I slightly altered the gamma to remove some haze, but as this is a copy, its never going to look perfect. I do feel a little bad for putting this up, but its on 'Its a Pixel Thing's channel already, so I just hope they let us keep this video on our channel. I have no intention of posting anything more available from Cloanto; including the Amiga Launch video or the Deathbed Vigil; so if you want to see those in high definition, they can only be bought with Amiga Forever. Buy it now!

Absolutely. All wonderful people! The makers used to love going in to work, and would even sleep under their desks so that they could be there sooner! Those guys had a passion, and as they say, energy flow in = energy flow out. In this case it was more like fun in = fun out. The intention was to create the ultimate games machine, which could be expanded into a full business computer. When Commodore Business Machines bought Amiga Corp, they made sure it was marketed at Businesses. It was only later that they realised their mistake and made two machines, the A500 and A2000, and the rest is history.

The only company i've ever seen that actually encouraged you to bring pets other things to work... "A long as you get the work done" I can't help feeling the stuff you bought to work "was" the distraction.. I guess you had to had to be there. Now-a-days, it's all restrictions.

@@Tech-geeky I was born in the mid eighties and I can see so clearly, how further corrupt and authoritarian life is becoming. If we don't do something to change the current trajectory, our kids will envy us, this is going in the wrong direction. It's getting serious these days because, bye-bye democracy.

I started with the Amiga 500 and stuck with Commodore all the way through to the 4000. When it all ended so did a big part of my life.

It's great to see this all put together, but it would be even better to see a new version of it someday. Even long after Amiga and Commodore fell out of public mind, I'm sure these ladies and gentlemen remember it still like it was yesterday. Computers will never ever be the same again. Not just because of the Amiga, but because times have changed and it's no longer plausible to have such a ragtag group of friends just building something because they wanted to.

True entrepreneurs, the story resonates as powerfully today as it did when I watched this 20yrs ago. The key to innovation is to unleash the potential of people and allow them to work with passion, and be completely open minded on doing things differently. It's only shame that a project that delivered something so far advanced of its rivals (the Macintosh included) was wasted on a short sighted corporation like Commodore. Imagine if they had set up an R&D facility to fund the same team to do a next gen Amiga.. regardless, they changed the world of home computing and gaming forever.

Loved my Amiga 500 & 4000. A computer far ahead of its time. Tragically squashed by poor marketing/distribution.

i kinda wish they'd do an amiga classic like they've done with the nintendo and megadrives, modern ports and tv interfacing, compatable with USB inputs like a 360 pad n mouse but otherwise amiga as it gets.

Unfortunately, Atari and Commodore were in a race to the bottom on price. It hurt in the long run.

Yeah. CBM almost went bust in 1986 but the A500 saved the company. Then they wasted those millions on the AAA chipset we never got, and instead developed the AA chipset - which meant they were broken again by 1992. In 1993 they wasted the last of their cash on the CD32, where the makers refused to release the boards until CBM gave them the money they owed.
