YES! Dalek Empire reference! Also my head canon is that the initial Dalek invasion and attempt to activate Project Infinity to find more Daleks was a failed plan to start the Time War and that the conflict from the end of Dalek Empire 3 being the last significant conflict the Daleks were involved in before retreating to prepare the plans that would lead to the start of the Last Great Time War.

I like to think it ties into Time Lord Victorious, if you change what Daleks are on the cover it kind of fits, then straight into the Time War! The only issue is they were heavily weakened by the end of Dalek Empire 3, but it’s open ended.

@@Dray1 I've had that head canon for ages too... it's really annoying that it was never followed up on aside from a single story in Dalek Empire's Short Trips (maybe Galanar was intended to have a main role in future stories but David Tennant was too busy becoming the New Who equivalent of Tom Baker). The way I try to get around that is that Daleks in other galaxies were unaffected by the wave of destruction in the Milky Way/Mutter's Spiral and Seriphia galaxies (if for no other reason than to make it easier to find a 2500+ year gap in the Timeline to fit Dalek Empire into), then at some point after Dalek Empire 3, the 'Suz' Supreme Dalek (or perhaps the Dalek Prime Strategist to tie it to Time Lord Victorious) finds a way to contact Daleks in other areas of the universe and summons them to build up an army to take over the Milky Way only for all the Daleks created from mutated Humans and the 'Suz' Dalek itself were exterminated due to the the revulsion of Daleks created through such impure means. After which point, a new Dalek is designated Emperor and returns to plans for the Time War, making all Dalek forces retreat from their attempts to conquer the universe in preparation.

@@Dray1 Also - even though I don't think they were intentional - I have noticed several similarities between Dalek Empire and New Who Dalek stories: the Supreme Dalek creating a new army of Daleks from Humans after a near apocalyptic defeat feels similar in concept to the Dalek Emperor (least likely to be intentional given how they were written and released so close together), the network that transmits the wave of destruction across the Dalek Empire seems similar to the Pathweb, and the advanced Robomen variant created by the Alliance Daleks seem like they could have been used as an in universe bridge between Dalek Duplicates and Dalek Puppets.

Wow it’s great someone is finally looking in to this mad area of dalek history which is mental as it’s really interesting I have thought about writing about a end to the dalek empire series but after discovering a different bit of doctor who lore (2006 annual) it kinda replaced that idea but yea it’s fantastic and I would like to see an ending to it

Mk3 daleks are depicted battling earthshock style cybermen in various adverts so I'm sticking to that as cannon

It's kind of weird that given how small the whoniverse seems to be that the cybermen didn't make appearances in dalek empire or side with the daleks or humans It always comes down to the same 4 enemies in the whoniverse....

There’s not really much on them from the Orion War to Nightmare in Silver, they kind of just, disappear? Perhaps they went into hibernation for a while, but who knows!
