@@AhmedZaidiThanks for your fact based videos. According to other sources there should be truckloads of diamonds that these people keep hidden only to fake scarcity which keeps the price on diamonds astronomically higher than it would be if the lies were revealed. I think statue removing is removing history, someone said instead of removing statues put them in museums with history of the person. I think that is not a good idea because of the expense however maybe a museum could publish on the internet the history of all the disputed statues so we could quickly refer to this as we view the statue. Or is this just a stupid idea? We could just google the name,but would we get the authentic Story?

Tell me what other foreighn nation campains to africa in the last 1,000 yr were not about colonization in some form? Rhodes does not seem like a good guy but seems to fit the mold of others b4 him unlike your implications of him being more brutal because hes British? or white? Diamonds 💎 like other materials out of The Earth carry intrinsic value. What The White Man did with it and the rest of our resources cheapened its value.
@AhmedZaidi2 ай бұрын
Its value is relative to available supply. However, the deliberate monopolisation of the supply to artificially increase its value is the debate.
@SpecialAgent6662 ай бұрын
@@AhmedZaidi Right ✅ but I was more referring to the spiritual and scientific use of diamonds.
@geminizaiby2 ай бұрын
There are so many diamonds on Earth that they have no value, literally. Control of its supply - by the likes of de Beers etc, increases that perceived value. Successful (aka sneaky) marketing is the second element in the ongoing lie about the value of diamonds - current value is "2-months salary" for an engagement ring.
@SpecialAgent6662 ай бұрын
@@geminizaiby Diamond heads are used for precision carving, drilling, etc. It is a hard stone and I'm sure it has other properties than holding & reflecting light. Because of its endurance & rarity, it symbolizes why it used to represent long marital relationships. There might also be other spiritual meaning. Now back to the mundane, diamond companies as entities of commerce know what immaterial value we place on it why they can manufacture a C0$T 💰💷💍
@johanvanniekerk50532 ай бұрын
@@AhmedZaidi The "De Beers monopolizes supply" line was true, until a few decades ago. They haven't controlled the bulk of global supply for a while now, and whatever grip they have is slipping. The two largest suppliers now are Russia (by volume) and Botswana (by value). Admittedly, Botswana still has agreements in place with De Beers, although a recent amendment increased the share the Botswana government keeps. More diamonds to the people, less to De Beers. There's also not an unlimited supply of mined (natural) diamonds - mines don't last forever. The Kimberley pipe in no longer economically accessible, for instance. Another good example is the Argyle mine in Canada, operated by Rio Tinto mine and famous for producing pink diamonds, that closed in 2020. And of all the diamonds recovered through mining, only a small fraction is gem-quality. So, the Earth's crust is full of diamonds (reportedly), but can we humans get to them? The answer is mostly no. Side note: lab-grown, as it relates to diamonds, is a misnomer. Yes, the process was perfected in a laboratory, but any photo of the interior a facility producing such diamonds will show something more akin to a factory. Which also explains why their wholesale prices have continually dropped - easy supply. PS: Did you know diamonds can be used as lenses for synchrotron sources used in physics experiments?

This channel is very informative, but it seems to have an anti-anglo undertome. The anglo-descendents were late to everything, but exceeded within themselves. There were many, many empires before, and many, many people traders...the problem being, is that the world only wamts to remember one race.

Rhodes was simply the front man for his business partner, the Rchild family. ... whom he bequeathed his fortune too on his death. As did Pierpont Morgan by the way. On another point, Bruh, words like ''enslaved'' are not unique to the British language or empire by the way. Mughals didnt enslave Hindus back in the day?? No need to make it sound more dramatic than it really is...thats how the whole world rolled back then, including among non white populations. Turks, Barbary Corsairs bought and sold Europeans as slaves... we dont whine and complain about it in front of the Turkish or Tunisian embassy now do we?? Black Africans owned slaves in the US South... documented fact... Who went out and caught African slaves for the European slavers, other Africans did it. You need to stop with this modern trend of portraying Europeans as somehow more evil and unique than everybody else.. and retrospectively applying modern values to events that occurred hundreds of years ago. Just Stick to the facts my man.
