See the growth of the European Union over the years, including the exit of the United Kingdom in 2020.
Corrections: Slovenia should be in the Eurozone from 2007 forward.
Note: The UK is technically in a transition process but it is doubtful they will choose to become like Norway and stay in the EEA, so since the transition process ends at the end of 2020, I just went ahead and showed the UK as fully out.

I lived in the UK for nearly 10 years. Majority of Brits don’t feel European, obviously geography is recognised but culturally they are distinct to mainland Europeans. I wasn’t at all surprised with the referendum outcome. Wish them well but I still believe that unity = strength. EU has its flaws of course but it’s an excellent body to stand up to Russia’s growing security and the USA’s economical ‘bullying’.
@Ricky911_

I'm British and I can tell you that what you said is very true. Out of the 4 countries, England in particular (my country) pretends to be somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic rather than 20 miles off the coast of France. Even if you look at the culture you will see a dufference from the rest of Europe. The UK tends to have semi-detached houses and row houses while the rest of Europe largely has appartments. In Central London, you can easily find a house. Not so easily inncities like Berlin. Even the education system is different. In pretty much all of Europe, teachers switch classes between periods. In the UK, it's the other way round just like in the US. I don't really know if Ireland fits into this category as well. Personally, I'm not too bothered about Brexit. I would have voted for it if I had been old enough but the only reason why I tend to be emphasize it in real life is because that's what the majority voted for

It's this weird "Island mentality" we have. Many Brits simply believe that because they are not geographically connected to Europe, they are not European. As a Brit myself though, I am very certain that Britain is European, and would never have voted for brexit.

I’m an American and although I realize that my opinion here doesn’t really matter. I supported the UK being part of the EU for economic reasons. The US is sometimes aggressive with trade and a larger body to trade with would have left the UK in a better place for that.

Daniel Nadeau "Yah cause one thing scots our known for is taking english bullshit." You say that, but Scots are actually extremely servile and subservient when it comes to England. The 1979 devolution referendum was rigged to prevent devolution, but Scotland did nothing. The Poll Tax was introduced in Scotland a year before England & Wales. England rioted when it came, Scotland did nothing. The McCrone Report came out in 2005, showing how much the UK had lied about the enormous potential of an independent Scotland. Scotland did nothing. With 4 years of Conservative rule and an increasingly right-wing anti-EU mindset in England, Scotland had the opportunity to become independent. Scotland, as always, did nothing. The idea of the brave or robust Scot is Hollywood nonsense. Trainspotting is closer to reality. Junkies, alkies and a lot of whinging. That's about it.
@sausagejockyGaming
@sausagejockyGaming 4 жыл бұрын
A. scotland cannot gain independance until the conservatives are removed from power. B. the majority of scots dont want independance, if you look at the british election results 55% of scottish people voted for pro union parties, but due to no tactical voting (you could have 5 thousand people vote for 10 parties that are pro unionist and then have 1,000 people vote for 1 pro leave party and the pro leave would win as they got more than any single other party) C. the EU wouldnt let them join, the EU has rules, one of these rules is on the defecit a nation is allowed to have, the scottish defecit is outside the boundary not to mention i doubt the EU would accept any more leach nations after losing its second biggest contributer which is already going to force it to increase its taxes on countries like france and germany.
