A Big History for a Small coin

My parents tell me that farthings were little used even when they were legal tender. Large numbers of them may have lain around in drawers for years on end. This is good news for coin collectors who will find that coins in good condition are cheap and easy to acquire. After demonetisation antique shops tended to keep stacks of them along with silver threepences, which is where I started my collection.
