I had my first job at The Broadway Dept. Store in 1971. No computers for the Registers. During Christmas, the Mall would have one night for Men Only, to do Christmas Shopping. They even set up a runway with girls from Playboy to model clothes. Lot's of great ideas went into putting this Mall together.

All I remember is that at one point in history San Bernardino had two Malls when most cities were lucky to have one ! I liked both of them. 🌈✌️

This was "The Mall" of my childhood I remember the popcorn candy kiosk in Sears. and the staircase from the first floor down to the lower floor where the will call was located. That is where items from the Sears catalog were picked up after ordering., and I think everyone loved to check out The Sears catalog toys section. I also worked at the Oshmans sporting goods store there back in the mid 80's. Also, there was a May Co auto service / tire center where the theater and parking structure is now. Thanks for this upload lots of memories there.

One of the first food courts, The Seven Kitchens, was located near the interior entrance to May Company. And the Gingerbread House that had animated spinning posies on its walls. Christmas was a magical time at Inland Center. Still have a photo of me on Santa’s lap in the May Company.

I worked at the Rams Horn restaurant in the 80's. It was located outside the entrance that took you to the Seven Kitchens food court. It was one of those dark restaurants with the big red booths and the waitresses wore the little black and white thigh high dresses with a big bow in the back. Good times spent at that mall.

I was there in 2010, and the movie theater was gone.. What year did they demolish the building? I remember as a teenager when it opened in 1986, i watched "Under the Cherry Mòon" the second movie of the late great Prince.

Pickwick Books was an original tenant, I believe, an expansion branch of a Hollywood bookstore, but it closed around 1971.

I worked at Florsheim's in 1985 with Joe and Damos. Met April through Joe's girlfriend, Heather. April was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I was way intimidated by her but she was down to earth and sweet. In 1987 I worked at Walden books which was a better fit. I stayed there till I got hired by the school district. I preferred The Central City Mall but the documentary was right about gangs ruining a good thing. A bunch of little dicks who are only tough in groups. My favorite was Wyatt's Cafeteria. And you could get beer at The Gingerbread House. I don't miss San Bernardino, but I do miss the 70's and the 80's........

San Bernardino sucks way more than this innocent mall. It fell victim to its the closing of Norton Air Force Base. and the decline of the Inland empire post the closure. A far better mall than anything in Riverside or even the Central City Mall. In their hey days.
