Good video. Walthamstow Central was called Hoe Street and was only renamed with the arrival of the Victoria Line tube.

If I remember right Chingford wasn't meant to be the terminus either it was meant to go further to high beach for epping forest, but cause of the queen it was deemed no one could build on the forest and the extension was scrapped.

Anyone else not a Londoner and yet watch half a dozen channels that you found via videos talking about transport routes in London?
@davidbull72103 жыл бұрын
You forgot to mention the fact (note aside) that it became part of the London Overground in 2015, which is sort of the point of the video I think.

Worth noting that the Churchbury Loop (between Lower Edmonton and Cheshunt) was closed to passenger traffic for many years (1909-13, then again from 1919-1960) owing to lack of patronage. The expected building boom in the area it served took a long time to happen. The station buildings at Theobalds Grove and Turkey Street were let out as private accommodation, while Churchbury/Southbury became a storage facility for a plumbing firm. The railways, however, reserved the right to use the line as an alternative route in emergencies, to the occasional inconvenience of the various occupants.

To say that it'll be incorporated into Crossrail 2 in 2030 is very optimistic as T. R. has already mentioned considering CR2 has already been mothball'd

Isnt there a plan in the near future to triple the line between Tottenham Hale an Cheshunt? Provision for this is slowly being added. The new Meridian water station as well as Northumberland Park and Tottenham Hale all have the extra platforms added recently.

From 1878 to 1964 there was also a short branch from Seven Sisters to [Alexandra] Palace Gates, long since closed. dismantled and built over.

Interesting to hear about what the Lea Valley Lines is today and how London Overground took over the Lea Valley Lines back in 2015. And with the Class 710/1 Aventra trains which are currently operating to Chingford, Cheshunt and Enfield Town. Maybe you could do a video of the West London Orbital which could happen in few years or in 10 years. And with the electrification on the Dudding Hill Line and Class 710/2 dual voltage London Overground trains to be built for the new service. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_London_Orbital en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dudding_Hill_line en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_710

Hi Ashley, you stated that the Lea Valley lines where once part of the Great Western Railway, they were not, they were part of the Great Eastern Raolway. Other than that, great video

I think Crossrail 2 has been, for now, stopped due to funding-something to do with tfl needed Government funding for existing lines and as part of the funding they had to cease work on Crossrail 2 as part of the agreement -at least for the foreseeable future

Officially the Lee ....and the reason so definitive My father worked for the Lee Conservancy Catchment Board lccb so official spelling was Lee Ironically the offices of the Lccb were on Waterloo Bridge ie on the Thames When the Lccb was incorporated into Thames water he moved offices to Theobalds Grove ie on the Lee We lived at Hertford so dad swapped from using Hertford North to Hertford East
