I lied my way into a club when I was 16. I was waiting for the “band” to play while sitting at a table by the stage. The side door opened and the Ramones walked in. Joey Ramone sat down and talked to us for 15 minutes. I loved this guy. Like talking to an old friend you haven’t seen. Their concert ranks as one of the best I’ve ever seen. Miss them so much.

Liz Ant Wow, that's so awesome! I never did get to meet them, but in 86 or 87, I did get a chance to see them live. One of the best live shows I've ever seen - so much fun! The venue wasn't real big, so we were a foot or two away from the band, the energy was incredible and my ears rang all weekend! Wish I could have met them - priceless!

I think the saddest thing (next of course to their passing away)is they never lived long enough to get the fame they deserved or realized their influence and eventual love for the band on a much larger scale. I was fortunate enough to see them at the Hollywood Palladium. One of the very best venues to see them. Wherever you Ramones are ....KEEP ON ROCKIN'.

The Ramones are as influential on the musicians and music today as the Beatles. Perhaps more so. They never got the kind of recognition or payout as the Beatles did, they got shit on the entire time they were together (by playing power chords and every guitarist or band at the time tried to be VH) but their sound and style lives on in almost every rock band, big or small. They all learned those power chords at home by listening to Ramones records.

THEIR ARTISTIC VISION? WHAT?
@LetsGoMetsGo338 жыл бұрын
they had specific ideas about how they should sound, what their lyrics would be about, how they would look. david byrne of talking heads has remarked "they were the only band that (he) knew of that had an art directer", which would be arturo vega, who designed their logo, tshirts, and stage backdrops. another artist, john holmstrom, found the ramones to be among the inspirations for his magazine 'punk', and did work for them on the rocket to russia dust sleeve and back cover, as well as the road to ruin front cover. filmmaker jim jarmusch has noted that they, and their ny punk peers, inspired him to the art of film, and that the ramones were as artistic as patti smith or television, in a different, more accessible, way.
