I live in southern very rural US, and was able to take a trip to Japan a few months ago, and wow... the trains there are FANTASTIC. I always knew Japan had amazing public transport but, WOW, they REALLY have amazing public transport. I love how just about every station has its own little melody for when the train doors are open, and just how easy it is to go from one place to another. And I've lived in rural US, I have never even touched a train before this, but after a little bit of getting lost like 2 times and fiddling around with google maps, it was very easy to figure out how to get around with the trains; ever since coming back from Japan, I've been fascinated by urban development, and especially how much more accessible cities in other countries are as opposed to the terribly car-centric America

True that! It's just that I regularly hear it in forums and discussion sites from our country, how people sneer at railway employees (Especially locomotive crew members) that they shouldn't demand too much money for "Pressing a few buttons", and that they'll be replaced by AI soon anyways. Honestly, it's almost cute how silly they display themselves, trying to discuss this while having nearly no deeper knowledge in the matter
@Guy-Zero2 ай бұрын
@@mccoachrailwayproductions8958 Exactly. Those people saying "its only pushing a few buttons" have no knowledge about that job or railways in general. Because the delays weren't bad enough I guess. Essentially, we destroyed the North American network from its peak to its almost skeletal form and set the example or allowed them to rot for 11 other networks. If you wonder why competent or semicompeteny railroads are now mostly an old world phenomenon, it's our fault.
