This is intersting. I was trying to find the history of using a real tiger at the Bengals games as I raised one of them. I didn't know when they started this and when they ended. I was probably the one who raised him in 1975. I remember running with him to the 50 yard line and back on an opening day. I was afraid he would tackle me before we returned but he didn't. He loved to play chase and tackle! His real name was Nicky. I am glad they don't use real tigers anymore! :)

I think the bengals should do what other animal-based teams are doing. Commision a fursuit maker. They're often much cheaper and much higher quality than mascot factories and much more accurate to the species.

Fun fact: The New Orleans saints have a similar chant which goes “who dat, who dat, who dat say Dey gotta beat them saints” This chant actually predates The Who Dey chant, as it was used since the 1800 part of the minstrel shows and vaudeville acts happening around the city,The saying gained traction in schools like LSU and Southern in the 1960s and 1970s before being officially adopted by the Saints in 1983. (Note: keep in mind that I’m a patriots fan)

Paul Brown had a real tiger skin as the mascot in Massillon (Ohio) high school in the 1930s after contacting a taxidermist in India, that tradition is still alive in Massillon today in 2022 🐯 His name is Obie the tiger (O.B. stands for Orange and Black)

10:06 Actually, all placental mammals (mammals that give live birth) have a belly button. Yes, including tigers. They're just harder to notice on most mammals because all that fur gets in the way. Humans, being comparatively hairless, have belly buttons that are easier to identify.

The 2009 redesign was NOT by Street Characters, but a place called Fiber Works that I believe was out of Arizona, but not sure they're in business anymore. The same design is being produced by an Ohio company, now. Not sure where you got the info that KCL did the 2005 costume - it was also Street Characters. The Street Characters design is what it was because the mouth was made large to allow for as much vision for the performer. Also, Who-Dey was at the 2020 Pro Bowl.
