I think you guys got a bit confused on your timelines, dragon ruler format was during 2013. These decks got their final support in time for HAT format, so they were overshadowed by Infernity/HAT variants/Geargia/Mermail/etc etc etc. Koa'ki Meiru did get some love from Jeff Jones bringing it to the NAWCQ for 2014!

The iron core of koa'ki meiru needs to be sent from hand to GY to substitue the revealing maintenance cost of all koa'ki meiru monsters I'm aware of, including those played today. It would be too good if the spell card that literally does nothing got to stay in your hand, after all.

Game 3 feel like attacking the facedown was the play, even if he couldn’t clear the monster, he could flip weslo (which was what he thought it was) under emptiness, then it’s effect would be null

I was on every version of rulers from ltgy until they were banned post dark matter dragon, but I had a friend playing the urknight deck. He had a heavier fire fist engine with more bears, a gorilla, a wolfbark(s), and multiple tensus. He did well at locals and I wondered how he won games because he could never take a game off of me.

Much better this week boys :) I agree with Joseph I always wish the Evilsaurs were better, the deck is really fun. Koaki Mieru Fist is CRACKED though and I’m glad Alex got to show it off game one. Like he said it’s thought if you don’t get both Core and Urknight, which is why a lot of the deck and extra is focused on that. Chain and Kagutsuchi are both ways to mill the cores which helps a lot!

Koa'ki Meirus weren't even jank, they were just rogue. Cimo misplayed a lot this match and still smashed MBT, which goes to show how strong that deck was. 19:05 could have chained Angineer to protect Diamond Dire from popping itself, hitting MBT down to 300 LP and preventing Soul Charge as counterplay. 27:42 should have hit into the defense position monster anyway. If it is Westlo, MBT has Vanity's Emptiness active and Westlo won't be able to activate. You kill Diplo and Vulcano if it's not Westlo.

The Koaki Meiru deck only LOOKS good, but the amount of misplays with Urknight is out of this world! The fact that Joseph didn't catch on it is something else. You need to SEND the Iron Core to the GY or reveal a Beast-warrior monster! Not just flash that Core! Jank indeed, because then you have to deal with the Core in the GY

Might be ad-nauseam at this point but i really fucking liked Koaki Meirus, especially in duel links where they truly were shining with Maximus being there as well, i liked the concept of monsters that had a huge drawback being the need for the core (which also justified their above average stats) and sad to see the deck nowadays being only known for engine/stun cards like Supplier, Drago or Guardian

I desperately want Evols to be better, not because I've ever played them or ever would but because I had that *exact* idea for a series of custom cards as a kid and its exciting that they made them and even improved them over time. Now they just need like a card that either lets saurs get their effect all the time or maybe lets succssful rank-ups maybe summon new little guys?

Can always make customs at duelingbook. I think the deck's biggest achilles heel is the subpar main deck saurs, myself, maybe inventing one or two new ones could help.

@@cwovictor3281 It probably depends, nowdays, what the archetypes wants to evolve toward. how a person would want to fix it, and for what era of feasibility you'd want to improve it for. Also, if you're weird like me you'd prefer shore up existing monsters rather than add new ones (or retrain them). Regardless I haven't played in a *LONG* time, and mostly just enjoying watching. Actually that'd be a neat series for MBT and the others. They all take their pet decks, make a few customs cards that they think are balanced and then duel eachother.
