My experience with salvia was one of the most eye opening and beneficial experiences I’ve ever had with psychedelics. I was literally carried through all of my lifetimes previous and present and showed my mistakes and showed how to fix those mistakes, then as I was about to be shown something very important the hands carrying me told me I was not yet ready to see and I had to have some more experiences before going back to it. That was the only time I’ve ever done it, I do plan on trying one more time

Ah Salvia, easily the most perplexing substance I ever explored with and I frequented the DMT space. Salvia was always somehow stranger - I’ve spent entire lifetimes as new beings and in strange places but after coming back it’s like the plant would clear itself from my mind. I’d have no compulsion or drive to try it again for a long time, and not out of anything negative. Truly a wondrous plant with many mysteries to offer. Safe travels!

@@spiritlevelstudios I would be more than happy to share! This might be long. My first real experience with Salvia is my favorite one, even though all of them have been wonderful, if a little intense. My friend and I had heard of Salvia (this was a long time ago, mid-2000’s) and wanted to try it to see what the hype was. I picked up some 5x extracts, a water pipe and we set up in my backyard at night. I was first to go. I took my hit and held it. After maybe 30 seconds, I exhale, look at my friend sitting in front of me and SCHOOOM! he rockets away from me and my backyard becomes an empty void. Out of the darkness, a crowd of people in brilliant rainbow colored clothes appear. They’re cheering and shouting “hooray you’re here! We’re so happy to see you! Come on, we gotta go to the party! There’s a party for you!” They all stretched out their faces into living Mardi Gras masks and they took me to an endless carnival, a cosmic carnival! I spent what felt like ages riding wild roller coasters, playing all kinds of fun boardwalk games and eating amazing food. I had so much fun and I was surrounded by all these wonderful friends who made me feel loved and welcomed and safe. Eventually, the carnival had to close and all my friends gathered around and gave me a massive hug, telling me how much fun they had and that I had to come back soon and play with them again. They faded from existence until I was back in the void, all alone. As quickly as he vanished, my friend suddenly rushed back into view and SLAM! I was back in my backyard, my face in my hands and I was just muttering “oh my god oh my god” over and over again. Once I calmed down, I asked my friend how long I was gone. He said maybe a minute, I just started giggling and rocking with a wild look in my eye. I gushed to him what I just went through and there was no way it was only a minute long, I was gone for MONTHS, at least in my mind I was. My buddy took his hit but he ended up “turning into a washing machine” and was scared he wouldn’t be normal again, so he got a bum deal out of it. We shared many more adventures over the years and I kept detailed trip logs of my time in the Salvia space, I still occasionally feel the call to return. I have lots of other stories and they’re some of my most cherished experiences, still just as vivid now as they were back then.

Everyone is talking about a bad experience. Guess I unknowingly did it the right way. I just put a couple 20x leaf crumbs ontop of some weed (both legal here btw) and ripped it. Body felt a little buz. Put a little more in, got a bigger buz. Decided I liked the feeling. Put a bit more in, hit it hard and laid down. Blew out and I was GONE. I felt out of my body. In a bright white room. It looked like a blanket of leafy feathers was unraveling toward me. It was then that I realized what was going on, I told my self to relax, keep breathing and just focus on the visuals. It seem to last for a minute or so. I could feel my self slowly coming back into my body and recognizing my self again if that makes sense. It was quite beautiful and insanely intense. Not sure when I’ll do it again. Soon I’m sure. I won’t be doing a hero dose (full bowl) any time soon. But this was great. Off that note, having done mushrooms a handful of times. I really didn’t like them. I don’t like the heavy body high. With salvia I feel like you just surpass the body and go right into another realm. I could tell my body was here, I was getting warm and sweaty, yet still disconnected from my body. I went into this with no expectation. I put my earbuds in with some relaxing music. And let the journey begin. If I had any advice for those thinking of using. Start low and slow. Work your way up.

I have some experience with shrooms and love them, in both micro and larger doses. They make you feel so good inside and genuinely help you become a better person in all areas of your life. But so many trustworthy, well-prepared psychonauts with plenty of mushroom, LSD, and DMT experiences have told me that salvia was extremely unpleasant and frightening for them, and something they never plan to do again. I don't want to feel like that, so I'm not ever planning to take salvia.

Yes, my first time with Salvia at a proper dose level was unpleasant and frightening. It's extremely powerful and completely different to classic tryptamine based psychedelics. It was no more or less terrifying than pure DMT though. It comes down to set & setting as always, and appropriate dosage. If you don't feel called to work with a medicine, then there's no reason to. When done with great care and respect, Salvia is an absolutely beautiful and astonishing experience. Have a listen to Christopher Solomon on KZbin.

@@darekwch89 to microdose plain leaves your gonna need a milligram scale luckily they can be gotten for about $20 on Amazon. In terms of the actual dosage to microdose you want less that 0.05 grams of leaves so anywhere from 0.001 grams to 0.04 grams or plain Salvia leaves either smoked or even better vaped. The frame of reference being used is one ounce (28.3495 g) of plain Salvia contains approximately 112,000 μg (micrograms) of Salvinorum A. You want to take less than 0.05 g of Sally which is about 197 micrograms of Salvinorum A that's still close to minimum threshold dose. Sally effects at the Vivid level of Daniel Seibert's Salvia scale can kick in as low as 200 micrograms so doing 0.04 grams or less of plain leaf should be a microdose.

On a certain level, we have The Hitchhikers Guide To Salvia Divinorum in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in flow: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the brain can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer flow to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the brain can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for flow, and flow is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.
@spiritlevelstudios
@spiritlevelstudios Жыл бұрын
Salvia hits the Kappa opioid receptors and nothing else, making it very unique, unlike LSD which hits a wider variety including serotonin. Natural states are excellent, but they can take many years of hard work and dedication to achieve, and even then are not something to cling to, but simply passing phenomena, same as everything else within the realm of mind and senses.

Salvia was the first psychedelic I tried, back when I was a teenager. Back in the day when it was legal in the UK. Me and my friend managed to get our hands on some in Camden market, even though we were minors. We researched the fuck out of this substance before smoking it. Our only prior drug experience was weed, alcohol and MDMA. I feel like trying salvia at such a young age was a major catalyst for my friend and I going on such deep spiritual journeys, despite that fact that it shook us both to the core of our being. I felt the sensation of being pulled through a wormhole. My whole existence was spaghettified as if I was on the event horizon of a black hole. I had all-encompassing visuals of a purple and orange portal/warping tunnel (can't even describe it). It was like I could feel my soul being sucked from existence. I actually ended up trying in on 3 seperate occasions. Each time got more terrifying.

So I buy this chemical called 4- AcO DMT it was discover by Albert Hoffman and it’s an analog of psilocybin that converts into psilocin inside the body so you’re having a replica of magic mushroooms. Any reference dosage to LSD 25 or pure psilocybin goes out the window. Being abducted on acid is not a fun way to spend an evening in my experience. Did you feel yourself being torn out of your body or was is more of a mind trip? Was that at a low or a high dose, and was it real acid or an analog?

Is it a guaranteed uncomfortable experience? Or can that feeling be suppressed depending on your mindset, and setting.
@spiritlevelstudios
@spiritlevelstudios 2 жыл бұрын
It's highly likely for the first time at high doses, because it hits really hard and very different. With proper attention to set and setting, it's possible to remain calm and stay fairly comfortable, despite the nature of the experience. It's very tactile, so physically there are strange sensations in generous amounts.

What's with the laugh track?

Most of Terence's talks are recorded in front of a live audience. It's not a track, just people who were there and laughing.

Terence can be a funny dude. They seem to be all friends and enjoying the talk. It’d be much more boring if they sat there quietly like a college lecture

I've had salvia twice. Below are my reports. My ego dissolves almost immediately. Not like any other. Trip One: Took 2 hits, held the second hit until I couldn't. Onset was under 10 seconds. I was already feeling the effects when I began taking the second hit. The entire experience below is only the peak and lasted about 2.5 minutes. All effects had ended after 10 minutes, aside from feeling a bit foggy. However, time within the trance dilated and felt like half an hour. My body felt like electricity. I was at my desk and lifted my head to the void of black. It felt as though I was moving forward rapidly, yet I was being pulled backwards. As if being sucked into a black hole. The room around me, it's furniture and all its colors trailed backwards, as if reality was being stretched and sucked into the abyss. I stood, clambered to my bed, and laid down. Any imagery was distant, vague, and obscured by the veil of a black silhouette. I couldn't see anything. But I could feel the familiar feeling of sitting on a wooden park bench. One with the cast iron railings in floral patterns. I did not see anyone or hear anyone speaking, but I could feel the presence of a woman sitting on the bench with me, to my right. She was neither benevolent nor malicious, and her motives were unclear. As the effects began to fade, I could make out the shape of a giant Ferris wheel at the end of a pier, obscured by shadows except for some of its glowing colored lights. Lights I did not know the color of because everything was felt inside and none of which was seen. Trip Two: This time, I made it to my bed much easier than before. On my way to the bed from my chair, I was whisked away to the void again. This time, the experience was much more visual, but the visions were fleeting. Unmistakable for what they were but not vivid or sharp. I was a petal on a sunflower by an enormous white washed wooden fence. I was picked from my core by a giant. (Genderless this time, still no form) Then, I was dropped and floated down to the dusty ground. I could feel the warm sunshine on my yellow petal skin limbs. This time, from the moment it kicked in, it felt like my skin was electricity. Everything was tingling, and laying down was very uncomfortable. Kind of like laying on a burlap sack would feel. But standing/sitting was comfortable. It felt like if someone handed me a light bulb, it would have flickered with the sparks shooting from every square inch of my body. Last subjective effect I had was I broke out in a sweat, but this I think was from how uncomfortable my bed felt while I was made of energy, and the room being hot.

Thanks for sharing. I understand the visuals being there, you can tell, just can't exactly see them. Also sometimes laying down, feels as if someone is pushing me in the back. Salvia gravity is remarkable. Chewing leaves rather than smoking yields a 45 mins start to finish journey. More gentle yet still extremely powerful.

What the hell is up with the laugh track? It's either in injudiciously applied laugh track, or his whole audience is tripping.

Alot of this crowd is experienced with psychedelic. It's the sort of laugh where you understand the absurdity and seriousness of the stories it's telling. For instance if someone told me they ate ten grams of mushrooms without prior experience I would probably immediately start laughing. Not because it's funny but because I understand what can happen if you do something that crazy.

Often, when you form a sympathetic bond with a speaker, laughter is a reaction that shows agreement or excitement with what is being discussed. You’ll see this a lot when meditation experts speak to audiences as well; e.g. Echart Tolle.
