In a recent interview, Brittney said she was influenced by Dio, Halford, Tate and Dickinson, plus one of my favourites that you may not have heard of, Daniel Heiman of Lost Horizon. If you really want to hear Brittney do that old school metal wail, try listening to "Tonight We Ride". Just to go full circle, Steve Harris is a major Nightwish fan. Fun fact, Brittney was a hardcore rugby player in university. She is also a classically trained mezzo-soprano.

Hey guys! I have a bit of a different flavor to recommend: An Indian folk metal band called Bloodywood. They are an awesome group of guys, and they sing about things like mental illness, suicide, and dealing with the loss of a loved one. I recommend "Yaad" and "Jee Veerey," along with "Endurant" and "Ari Ari." They sing in Hindi or Punjabi (not sure which). Another band is from Ukraine -- Ignea. They released The Realms of Fire and Death almost a year ago, and the lead vocalist, Helle Bogdanova, does both cleans and growls. They've done one song in Ukrainian -- Chorna Polnya (Black Flame). I recommend Disenchantment or Jinnslammer. Thanks for reacting to UtA!

UTA is a Canadian band from Victoria BC. They play a fusion of power, death, and melodic metal. I like to call it Final Boss Metal haha. Here's a vague breakdown to give some context to the lyrics. This song is from a concept album telling a story track by track about an Immortal being. This is the opening song on the album. It is sung from the Immortals perspective(not all the tracks are), about being awoken in his mountain hollow from a 1000 year sleep. As a covenant of birth, the immortal must do the bidding of whoever awakens him. As the tracks progress, you find out that The Matriarch(which is played by the male vocalist in this song Awakening) was the one to awaken him. She wants him to find her four sons, so she can kill them and perform a blood ritual to gain immortality for herself(pretty dark haha), and his journey to find them. Each son has their own song about them on the album. The closing song Apex, is about the immortal going back to sleep in his mountain and it is a phenomenally written song. Their new album which came out in August, is a continuation of this story, and the immortal has awoken on a spaceship confused as hell wondering where his mountain is lol from the single Abyss. I won't go into the rest of the album lol For something heavier by them: Cleanse The Bloodlines For Brittney really going wild: Tonight We Ride Epic song writing: Apex(official audio only on KZbin) Something different: Legacy(really cool lyric video) Subbed from Toronto 🤘🇨🇦

Bass player is using Clawhammer. Clawhammer picking, by contrast, is primarily a down-picking style. The hand assumes a claw-like shape and the strumming finger is kept fairly stiff, striking the strings by the motion of the hand at the wrist and/or elbow, rather than a flicking motion by the finger. In its most common form on the banjo, only the thumb and middle or index finger are used and the finger always downpicks, hitting the string with the back of the fingernail. By contrast, the thumb rests on the fifth string with the downpick motion, and is often released in a lighter up-pick to create the distinctive clawhammer sound. In this video it makes the sound of the gallop or horse ride into battle. Check out Liliac with front woman Melody Cristea (influenced by Ronnie Jame Dio ) doing Metallica cover "Master of Puppets

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWAKENING To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die
