I feel this game is criminally underrated. It has a lot of references to the books and is actually surprisingly very fun to play. It being more kid friendly compared to the movies actually fits it tbh as the books were actually intended for kids originally if I recall. I wish we could have another game adaptation that actually is book accurate unlike the movies.

You're 100% right, Hobbit book intended as a fantasy story for kids. It's at "Lord of the Rings" when it takes that serious adult turn.

I loved this game as a kid. Played it on PS2 and then on my Wii with the GameCube mode. I just had to go back to it. It looks so smooth on PC. You are really good at this game thanks for uploading a full play through. Brings back a lot memories of Christmas Day in 2003 for me. I got this game with my PS2 but my mum forgot the memory card so I played Hobbiton over and over lol. Couldn't get past the Troll sneaking level for ages.

When I was little, my best friend and I used to sit crammed into an office chair playing this. One of us would control the mouse, the other the arrow keys. Don't think we ever made it past the trolls. But we loved it so much we made up a troll game on the playground. God I wish I could play this game again.

6:01:46 is when we finally get to see smaug. 6:12:40 is when you finally get to kinda interact. 6:14:17 to hear him speak. (Such dialogue and voice acting.) 6:18:30 is when they *finally* talk to each other. 6:19:22 smaug in play dragon pose. 6:54:02 lake town gets scorched. 6:54:40 smaug goes down. There. All the parts of this game I always wanted to see.

haha nice game. i remembered playing it when i was 12. the flies and spiders the last stage after the slide the fight with the spiders is by far the hardest for me but i just use the walking stick to blast my way through. much more effective than the sword tbh.

I got this game for this past Christmas and it actually works on my computer!! (which is doubly surprising since first, this game is super old and my laptop new, and second since my laptop is not really a gaming laptop.) But it works so well. It's a trip down memory lane (both when I was like 4 {when my aunt would play it with me and my brother} and when I was an early teen {when my aunt gave us her copy which later broke}).

Indeed. The way they made the battle an entire movie of its own seems really dumb, especially when the hobbit is less than 1/3 of the lord of the rings. No logical reason to split it into three films, other than greed

Run it in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3. I had the same problem until I chose that!

Download the 1.3 patch for the game. It fixes the crashing problem. It also has better textures for the water, and a better save file feature.
