During the Second World War, the true crimes of the Nazi regime were revealed to the world as the Red Army and the Allies liberated concentration camps such as Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen. There was a feeling that the perpetrators of the Holocaust needed bringing to justice, and some of this was administered during war crimes trials such as 'The Nuremberg Trials.' However there was a group of Jews and former prisoners who wanted to seek revenge further, and wanted to inflict huge suffering onto the Germans and the Nazis who had caused them great suffering.
Abba Kovner along with a number of other former inmates of concentration camps and Partisan fighters would form Nakam, a group of soldiers who would try to avenge the Holocaust. Nakam would plan to kill as many Germans as they could by instigating two plans. Plan A was that the group would infiltrate the water supply of Nuremberg, a city which before World War 2 was a Nazi stronghold, synonymous with the Nuremberg rallies. With this, Nakam agents would introduce poison into the water supply and wished to kill 6 million people.
Plan B was to poison many SS guards and soldiers who had been kept inside American Prisoner of War camps after the end of the conflict. This plan was actually carried out, as Nakam members managed to infiltrate a bakery supplying break to a camp, and poison 3000 loaves of bread which caused thousands of German POWs to become ill. Nakam ultimately was a group that wished for the Holocaust to be avenged, with strikes occuring at the heart of the country which had caused the most suffering, Germany.
So join us today as we look at, 'The Holocaust Avengers - Taking Revenge Against The Nazis.'

I remember going to the imperial war museum as a teenager. One of the archive videos showed that inmates who were still alive were allowed and by allied troops to identify guards who had attempted to disguise themselves as inmates. A few of them were beaten up by inmates who still had the strength to punch.

I'm sure that most people today would look at these people as if they were in the wrong to want such a revenge but we live in a very easy and comfortable time and it is even easier to judge, I for one am a very passive person and I hate violence but put in their shoes I think I would do the same, I was born in Australia my father is from sicily and my mother is from Germany I have no Jewish relatives and I don't think I even know a Jewish person but this is not about culture or religion this is about anger and rage that would come from going through such horrific events and would change anyone. My heart aches for all the lost souls of that time the absolute horror they lived is purely unimaginable to someone like me so I don't know the depths of emotions that they feel and I truly think I would of at least been willing to help them and at least be part of killing every single ss prisoner in all the camps they were held, this I know for sure I would help with.

It's sad how when dictionaries define the holocaust they barely mention the other 4,000,000 people that died in those same camps, that's if they mention it at all. It's as if some lives just don't matter as much as others. As someone with both Gypsy and Jewish family I find this very disturbing that one group is completely ignored.

@ElbowPeep, please note that Jewishness and Zionism are not the same thing. One is a blend of ethnicity, culture and religion, and the other is based entirely on the belief that there's a deity that favours one ethnicity over all the others. Now you can always respond by calling me a fascist/bigot/Jew hater or whatever, but you'd be better off asking why I was taught as a child that one ethnicity is intrinsically better than all the others. NO ETHNICITY is better than any other, not one. If you believe otherwise then you're a racist supremacist POS. If you're not a racist POS then you disagree with Zionism.

Seeing so many Nazi's and German/Austrian sympathizers getting away with these atrocities, I couldn't be silent. After what the Jews and the many others kept in these hideous camps went through, they may have wanted to put it behind them when liberated and just get on with their lives.

We can't be sure it didn't happen more often! Not every group that commits crimes of retribution wants the publicity. Those who participated in the Holocaust and escaped the aftermath by changing their identities and relocating to the US or South America had to look over their shoulders for the rest of their lives. They had to worry about their families' safety as well as their own, and never knew if their friends died "natural" deaths due to illness and accidents... or if they had been discovered by those avenging their victims. That fear of not knowing if they'd been found out, identified and marked for retribution had to eat away at their sanity. Plus, their own children might turn them in if they discovered what their parent(s) had done during the war! I wonder if NOT being caught was worse for some of them than being identified and forced to stand trial for the horrors they participated in.

Aside from a few top Nazis who were hung at the Nuremberg trials, and a bunch who were caught and shot by the Russians, vast numbers of regime supporters and participants got off with no consequences.

@ElbowPeep I would rather kiss the killers than become one of them. Either way what I definitely would not do is kill random people from a particular ethnic group just to satisfy myself. After reading a few of your posts I've realised that you're probably a fascist just writing ridiculous stuff about Jews just to make them look bad. Luckily my Jewish friends and family are nothing like you, even the Zionists along them don't endorse murdering children. It's so ironic that you call so many people Jew haters when you seem to go out of your way to encourage it. It's as if your own worth is based on how much of an idiot you sound like.

Generally speaking, revenge isn’t a great idea. I could never, however, condemn Holocaust survivors for seeking it. As an American, I look at how geographically small Germany is & am stunned anew every time I think about the efficiency & numbers of people the Nazis murdered. How German civilians could say afterward that they “had no idea” mass murder was being committed in their own backyard was ludicrous! Yesterday, I watched a doc about Tsar Nicholas II & the anti-Semitic pogroms which occurred in his time. Just a few short decades later, the Russians were welcomed as liberating heroes by German Jews. My my - how politics flips alliances! The Japanese were our sworn enemies in WWII. Indeed, we bombed two of their cities out of existence at the end, killing who knows how many civilians. When I was a middle-school kid, I distinctly member watching raw film footage in a social studies class of Hiroshima & Nagasaki survivors being taken care of. I’m closing in on 60 now, & one scene from those films still haunts me; a young Japanese person (male or female, I couldn’t tell) laying in a hospital bed. His/her face badly burned. A hand holding a long, thin pair of pincers comes into the shot & grasps the corner of the patient’s upper lip. The hand pulls . . . and the entire upper lip peels off, exposing the patient’s teeth & gums up to the nose. The patient just lays there looking up - no reaction whatsoever. Straight out of a horror movie. Of course I know the justification for Hiroshima & Nagasaki, “To force the Japanese to surrender” and “Bombing Hiroshima & Nagasaki saved countless American lives.” To be honest, I’ve never felt the same about my country again. Thanks for the video. You do excellent work. 🙂

Hey brother. Don’t listen to any outsiders trying put ideas in your head. I believe that you, like almost all human beings with a mind capable of reason and a moral center urging you to do good. Why don’t you have an honest, unemotional think about this question? Take a look at the German soldiers, for example, in perfect health, the SS especially having just gotten back from the concentration camps where they would have overseen the mechanized starvation of thousands of Jews a day. Of course, a simple German soldier standing around idly flashing a smile at his fellow soldier is no great event necessarily. But it’s when we consider what they just recently did, it’s then that the smile seems.....not even perverted. Rather, it seems completely detached from reality. Before this war German Jews and German Christians married and fell in love and produced wonderful children and they not only were they totally “accepted” in the community, indeed there was nothing to “accept.” “She is a Jew in the same way as I am a Christian”. But then came Nazis. And eugenics. And I would submit that the stupid fucking Blue Star they made the Jews wear constituted THE VERY EVIDENCE of the failure of their theory; if you can’t tell who’s a Jew without a star, then what specifically is it that we are meant to hate about them? So what this war did, is take soldiers who grew up as little boys playing with other little Jewish boys, never one knowing the difference. And then one day, the trains are coming and you can’t play with Josep anymore. “Oh. Ok. That’s too bad”. And then 10 years pass, with not a single Jew to remind them that they’re just fucking people, and now you have orders to liquidate them, and so what? They’re not people, right? So they do it. Kill them all. Maybe Josep was there, wondering why the fuck all this was necessary. I’m being melodramatic. But this others zing of people to the point you can kill them and be in a jolly mood seconds later......that’s what this war did. That’s what the hell it did. The photos of these soldiers are astonishing. They are historic. They must never EVER be forgotten, nor their context. Thank you for your time and attention. Regards, Matt

Perhaps we should substitute the word vindication for revenge. Our laws on the punishment of criminal activity are thought of by some as "revenge" rather than punishment. As a corollary to our civil society's notions of punishment, the "punishment should fit the crime" and the punishment should be meted out in the public square for all to see that justice was done and as an admonition of deterrence to those who might contemplate evil acts. The lack of, or lax punishment of evil has landed society where it is today. Prime examples are Portland and Seattle and the feral populations of youth in our major cities. Think again?

"Poisoning the water of cities etc makes them as bad as the criminals themselves." Balderdash. The Germans in massive numbers and power - both government and people - deliberately enacted thorough genocide upon the innocent, captive Jewish population, with the intent of completely eliminating the Jewish people. The Nakam group intended not to wipe out the entire German nation but to exact enough retribution to deter future recurrence, with the victims - German public - deserving of punishment for collaboration in the Holocaust. In fact, the German public ended up unpunished for the most part. "Revenge is a waste of energy." It's not a complete waste if it serves as deterrence. Modern sentencing has components both of rehabilitation and of deterrence.

I had heard of this before. The first plan was just nuts. The killing of the innocent such as children is dishonorable and that could of happened if the water supply was poisoned. Killing of a German or Jewish or Soviet child is just wrong. The second plan assumed they all deserved death. A better plan would of been to track and kill them off over the years. Some of these war criminals lived a nice life after serving a very short time in prison. That way they would always wonder and live in fear if it was their time to die.

In Isaiah 2: 4, Jehovah God, the Creator and Source of life, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, promises: "He will be judge among the nations and will settle matters in relation to many peoples. They will turn their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. The nations will no longer raise their swords against each other and learn no more to wage war." My immediate neighbors are Jews and I am a Jehovah's Witness. Their hearts are superior than pure gold by far. They are extremely kind. Any person who believes that Americans control their own government is mentally ill. Corporations and the Military control America. The average person has no real influence.
