I haven’t seen any Hartman stuff in a long time my friend Ian use to work there for Ronda and her family making those intakes and valve covers they also made wire separaters and air cleaners they use to come in all the colors you said . When ever they made a run of parts if they didn’t turn out clean they would melt them back down or he would bring some of the stuff home the valve covers use to work great I never had any leaks .

@@redstang70 it was some money I also had the Ford extender think I had like a J 302 head with a B303 cam I don’t even know remember if I was using accu fab 75 mm throttlebody or was using a 65 mm Ford motorsport. I believe my brother was even using a trick flow upper intake on his mustang. Those days were so much fun. I use to get all the latest and greatest information all head of a lot of people because my brother worked for Muscle Mustangs and Fast Ford.

I have a Holcomb “Civil Wars” upper that fits a truck or Systemax 2 lower… It was back in that same time frame and I haven’t seen another in years.I love nostalgia

I was not into the 5.0 scene back in the early 90s. But I knew Hartman products well. I was on a latemodel stock car team and we ran thier "Plastic" valve covers on our race engines. And they were red. So I'm sure they did the intakes in other colors. We never had problems with them. So glad you scored that. Perfect for the Retro Fox. Great tip on the re bluing. THANKS!!

I have bought a complete 302 that was pulled out of a ‘91 LX. Not sure what has really been done to it but it’s seen some better days. What I did notice is the BBK 70MM Power Plus Throttle Body and Spacer with a Hartman Intake. I paid $300 for the complete engine but not sure I will use that set-up. Want to build this as stock as I can, so it all may be up for sale sometime in the future.

I had it with ported stock heads and a E303 cam. Only thing I can remember about it's power was , it could beat a 1996 Corvette with fuel upgrades a chip , gear and headers. I was told maybe, maybe 300-350 hp. I brought it down to new jersey and got beat by everything. Wasn't that fast in my eyes. Now, today, I have a f1x procharged 96 saleen. It's about 8-850 hp and with the small shot of nitrous, close to 1000. Big difference from my Hartman installed 1992 fox body. Hahaha

A buddy of mine had one back in the day and blew a big hole right out of the top of it from a nitrous backfire. Yeah these were good lil intakes if you were running an old vortech A or B trim supercharger. I have an old Bennett racing bread box upper that I ran from back then around 95 or so and I've been thinking about putting it back on for the nostalgia of it.

I never seen any other color of the Hartman or the comp intake other than black. And I believe you are correct the Hartman only came in the HO port configuration Amd o think tue Comp came both HO Amd GT40 staggered port.

Bro, I'm very happy that you found a grail piece for yourself! My hunch is that thing will end up on the Calypso fox before long, sorry to say. As someone who also has a centrifugal SC I'll say this, you won't want to lose down low TQ. You can't afford to. They already are so late in coming in vs a turbo car, you don't need to move the powerband up top. Centrifugals already do that on their own. I am actually going down a pulley size just to gain some more low end TQ, after driving it the way it is this summer. A turbo generates so much TQ down low, you can afford to lose some, and sometimes have to tune them down just to eliminate a massive TQ spike not to blow your tires loose at 3k RPMs. What makes for a fun street car is low end power. Hopefully this doesn't kill yours. Have your Holley intake ready to swap from the Calypso, I think you'll want it at some point 🍻

I remember comp cams having the red, blue, black, and yellow choices for their composite valve covers but the Hartman intakes in the magazines were always black. I remember seeing it in the Holcomb motorsports 2 page ads that were always on the inside cover of the magazines.

Bro that is so awesome! I only remember the Company Cams aka lil black box. Wish I had either or. Fyi on my 87 speed density fox. I have ported and polished the hell outta my stock lower intake. Cleaned up upper real nice back bu a stock TB but have a SVE 65mm TB Spacer. I have good feelings of out come. I have removed a tooooon of material outta lower intake. Cant wait for ur review and mine. 👍
