Very rich history and these EMI engineers definitely had an ear along with technical skills.

@TwstedTV4 жыл бұрын
This guy in the beginning of this video says "There is no other plugin available that is modeled " which is a lie..... Yet 7 other companies made similar plugins of them. United Plugins Royal Compressor (which pluginboutique is giving away for free for a limtied time with a purchased item) and Abbey Roads actually makes the Chandler Limited RS124 hardware still, and Acustica plugins made a new plugin called Cream which is suppose to resemble but a bit far, and so on and so forth. Not to mention that people can still get their hands on the Altec 436C and Altec 438C hardware compressors. The waves plugin version looks really nicely designed as always :) I still purchased the waves version........ Because I trust waves products and their emulation that have been trusted for decades in the music industry.

It's about freaking time! This has been almost a travesty in the whole EMI Abbey Road/Waves/Softube/Chandler nonsense reorganization and drama. This plugin was already released in a very respectable form by Softube years ago. Then it was mysteriously dropped from availability for several years (never made it to 64 bit). Then a small company UnitedPlugins put out (apparently) a very good version with 3 different selectable sub-versions available within the one plugin (as was the case with Softube, as I recall...here there are only 2). But UnitedPlugins' price was around $125, which was a bit much. Now, finally, the company that has been officially putting out all the Abbey Road gear for years has finally released this. As Mirek Styles says, this is the most critical part of the whole Beatles sound. So, that it was unavailable as part of the "Beatles" package, was a major tragedy. Finally we can get our hands on this thing--and for a killer price (I bet UnitedPlugins wishes they had lowered the price now)! For $39.99, this is literally a steal. This is easily one of the best compressors of all time. I am so giddy that it is finally available again and that I now own it. This is just great!! Thank you Waves and Abbey Road!!

it's $30-40 a piece, cut in half on cyber monday - which is a generic name for most any day of the week - when you get 2 free plugins for every 2 bought. it doesn't get cheaper than this, except if you find someone to pay you when you buy stuff. compare to plugin alliance - $350 a channel strip, for instance. and i like waves' sound and concepts better.
@Tryggvasson4 жыл бұрын
being the inquisitive nature that i am, can i inquire if this is the same compressor that one (myself included) can find on the tg mastering and tg12345 channel strips? cause if so, i already have it. twice. sounds good, not complaining. was only wondering if i could feel part of the new release without having to pay more money.
@waves4 жыл бұрын
Hi Olaf, this is a completely new compressor plugin, not the same one from the TG12345 channel strip 🙂 Also, keep in mind that you can always demo our plugins and check it our for yourself 😉 Our demos are fully functional 7 days temporary licenses so you can fully evaluate how the plugin sounds.

Key phrases in every ad for any compressor: it's silky, smooth. There was never anything like it. 🖕
@Tryggvasson4 жыл бұрын
actually, that's a fake news bulletin right out of the box, cause united plugins have royal compressor, modeling the same unit - in fact, 3 separate units of that same model, complete with different attack times, hold, plus extra auto gain. the good news stop here, though, cause it's more than 3 times the price, looks uglier, and once you got it you have to put it on every album, cause you can never transfer the license. and it doesn't have abbey road written on it, which leaves you feeling uncertain, nor the "british proper blue" grey color. interesting video, nonetheless.

Saying "very unique" is just like saying "almost infinite". Either it is unique or it's not. I would say that all twenty-five of these compressors are unique. But I don't work for Abbey Road. I'll get my coat and see mysef out...
@v1o4 жыл бұрын
No its not. Those two terms mean completely different things. In the English language there are varying degrees of uniqueness, something can be quite unique, not so unique and even very unique. And also something unique to you might not be unique to someone else.
@juliusebola93894 жыл бұрын
unique isn't a binary category, infinite is. One is a light switch, the other is a dimmer switch.
