Probably not something most people are going to think of but...The soft piano playing in the background was an incredible addition to this video. It seems to capture the awe, and the emotion of such incredible works of art. Art that people poured every ounce of their being into. I’m not sure why, but that little piano piece really drove home the emotional incredulity of not only these cars, but the last five years for humanity in general. A lot has changed in five years.

Speedtail has no attributes from the f1 asides from top speed. Build for completely different purposes. P1 is the true successor.

@@lop8828 no it's not. Even McLaren have stated that the P1 is not the successor of the F1. The Speedtail has the 3 seat layout, but I don't believe they called it the successor either. Saying nothing though is closer than them categorically denying it.

The P1 is what got me into cars. Mclaren has always been my favorite car brand, and if i wasn't a broke loser, or a normal person, or anybody other than a billionaire, the first car i would buy is the Mclaren

918 spider, when it came out (I was 13/14) became the one car I dreamed about. Posters on my wall, screen saver on my phone and lap top. It’s just got a special place in my heart. I’m yet to see any of the holy trinity. I’ve come close to seeing the Scottish bright blue 918 reg ‘918E’ however never managed to get to the location on time (the owner sold it a few years back now so don’t think I’ll find it anytime soon 😂). One day I’ll find one😂

My guess is McLaren are heavily financed. In order to get a low interest rate the loan will be short and they will have to refinance often. For another lender to take on that debt they will require robust sales figures so McLaren have to keep churning them out. But it's a race to pay down the debt before the customers get board with the rate of new models and sales plummet.

Except how to pronounce "Porsche" There two syllables in Porsche -- "Por" and "Shuh." Put them together, and you get Porsche. It's not Porsh.

We usually refer to cars talking about how fast the are and so on, but guys, history and glory make brands. I mean Mclaren and porsche are awesome, but that V12, those lines, that badge. You have to have the LaFerrari. Awesome video.

Curtis Whyte mate, that’s your insane opinion as far as calling it ugly, and yes, you’re right, younger people don’t own ferrari’s because ferrari don’t want their masterpieces of engineering knowledge built up over decades through history, and, dare i say heritage, to be in the hands of unappreciative, incessant little dickheads that just want to flash their exotic cars for clout. Ferrari buyers are the real car enthusiasts, and the fact that the cars are ruined for you because you disagree with the business is revolting.

No doubt the LaFerrari is badass and pretty darn wild. However, the 918 and P1 are, dare I say, just as awesome in terms of design (Porsche being understated), performance, driven experience, etc. I love all three...

These are three of my favorite cars in the whole world, but I have to say that out of these three I think the 918 stands out a little bit. Yes the laferrari may look better and the p1 is really great and all that, the 918 is just out of another world of a driving experience, the performances around track is just insane. The grip on this car is just the best in the world, Porsche engineering is just on another level. But I have to agree that the laferrari is the best looking car in the world and the speed on This car is just mind blowing. The p1 also being a monster around the track and the back of that car is just insane.

LaFerrari will increase in value the most. The 918 will be like the Carrera GT in that sense, prices will stay relatively low for years. Under a million dollars and you have a wide selection. The P1 needs about $1.5m and LaFerrari at least $2.5m. The P1 has the most disappointing engine, the turbo V8 derived from much cheaper Mclaren road cars. The Porsche has a lovely naturally aspirated V8 with racing pedigree and LaFerrari of course with a mighty V12. The V12 revs even higher than the V8 in Porsche, which is some amazing accomplishment. The Porsche's setup is designed so the motor gives enormous torque compared to the Ferrari, so even with a smaller engine the 918 has vastly more combined torque. My favourite is the Ferrari, but for under a million dollars the 918 is comfortably a match for it and the P1 so that is amazing 'value' haha.

@@curtiswhyte3297 Yes, we know the Porsche has 2 motors. The Ferrari V12 lineage dates to the Enzo, which it was designed for. Since then the modern V12 is rare for any car, but Ferrari also only use it in their high end models. The F12 was a $300k when it was new, cheap ones are still $200k and they don't put the V12 in everything unlike Mclaren and their V8. There is no chance at all the P1 values will rocket like the F1. None. The F1 was an extremely limited, cost no object, legendary car that added immaculate racing pedigree. It was not followed up, as Mclaren state. Whereas today Mclaren are just flooding the market with 'Ultimate' series cars every 2-3 years. P1, Senna, Speedtail, Elva all within 8 years. It won't stop there either. This will absolutely dilute the brand and values. If nothing else this is borne out by the fact there are more Laferraris built than P1s, but the LaFerrari still held their value and increased by more.......

All 3 of them. I love all of them because they have such similar performance but do it so differently. It makes them unique compared to other cars. If a driver that had the same experience with each car did a lap time test, he would get a completely different result every single time. My personal favorite is the LaFerrari. It fits my personality in terms of racing on a track. The V12 is so satisfying to hear. The nimble and lose style to the car is just so addictive because the car likes to play with the driver. In Assetto Corsa, I can power-slide much easier with the Ferrari than the other two. This is an excellent video! Thank You for showing people these wonderful cars.

This was an excellent review. It reminded me of my regrettable decision to pass on the 918 that Porsche offered to me in 2013. I still have the information package that Porsche sent me, including a Porsche representative that was assigned to me. I said “no” and at the time, I didn’t realize the other critical component of the 918 sale - the VIP program. In 2015, I bought a 991.1 GT3 RS without a mark-up. Subsequently however, I was unable to get a 911R allocation at all and for the GT2 RS and 991.2 GT3 RS, I was asked to pay a significant dealer mark-up. Now McLaren have given me an early spot to order a 600 LT but I will likely turn it down because of the McLaren quality and resale value issues. It’s quite a shame because from a performance perspective, McLaren builds spectacular cars, as noted in this video.

Great video, i do not like P1 even though I have only been a passenger, but I know a lot of the problem with the car "despite the fact that Mclaren is hiding", and it does not call attention to anything, neither in the visual nor in the unit of force, the other two are amazing especially LaFerrari!

For me, and I'm a Ferrari fan, the P1 is my first choice. The shape is so perfectly organic and the suspension lowers for track use. Just brilliant! Next, La Ferrari and lastly the 918. I would not be put out to have that purple TDF in the background either!

918 set record when it came out (6:57) McLaren claims that the P1 did it in “under seven minutes” but didn’t post a time and Ferrari has done laps but has not disclosed a time. 918 is objectively fastest around a track as the tracks that did record all three cars had the 918 on top.

@@Romansinternational I have a great deal of respect for Porsche for it's awesome engineering. But there is absolutely no way I'd choose the 918 Spyder over the other two. Personally, I am not paying so much money for an exotic car and then its doors open and close in the same manner as that of a Honda Civic. To me, with conventional or regular doors, you're losing some of the exotic flares.

Out of the three brands, I like Porsche cars the most but the P1 just hits different

If the La Ferrari had a V8 like the other two, same like the new SF90 Stradale let's say I think it would be easier to choose the P1 because it's the more raw experience driving it, it's the more rare car and if I'm not mistaken it was usually the fastest of the three around the tracks and its value can go only up so it's probably a good investment too. But with the La Ferrari there's the engine... and heritage too, it's the most sought after and if I had to think of one poster car in the last 10 years it would be La Ferrari

@@curtiswhyte3297 Look, poster car doesn't mean the most beautiful but the most in your face and "bad-ass", Countach LP5000 QV is ugly af, nothing elegant about it but it's THE poster car. If we're looking for the best looking car of the last 20 years it's DeTomaso P72 and out of these three I agree P1 is the most beautiful one but to a kid that's gonna look at the poster for every day for the next few years it's nothing but a 650S

The problem with McLaren is their super/hyper that perform better than P1 spring up like mushrooms nowadays. With the 650S, 675LT, 720S, 765LT, Senna and Speedtail, you don't feel like P1 is special anymore. Unlike Ferrari and Porsche, they haven't made any hypercar to succeed both LaFerrari and 918 to this day. The closest is SF90 Stradale which is not a hyper and 935 from Porsche which are track only. Thus Laferrari and 918 still held a special meaning

I know it came later, but these 3 pale in comparison to the Regera. Own one in Forza, and my GOD is that car a thrill. Doesn't matter how many times I do it, going from 0 to max speed, and back to 0 again, never gets old.

Ferrari really do know how to keep the mystic up with their cars, it does seem like every other day there is a McLaren being release that looks indistinguishable from there past 10. Koenigsegg releases a lot of cars too but they are actually all different and unique in some way, be is single gear, highest top speed, first one to one, McLaren really get cheapened even tho they are all amazing super cars.
