Whenever we have a recurring service like that, my husband always requires the same technician every service. It keeps us from having multiple strangers in our house seeing what we have and where, and you develop a relationship and usually the technician starts communicating directly with us about service.

I am 70 years old and this has Always been my experience. Once a plumber was late, then didn't call before he came like he was supposed to do so when he and his sidekick arrived I met them outside and said, "You were supposed to call before you came." His response was, so do you want your dishwasher fixed or not? I said, " No, nevermind." And went inside. I was so mad at that unprofessional comment of his that I wasn't going to give him my business.

Contractors can be the worst. I was given a window one time from like 11-3 or something and the guy came at 9am like what???? I am in a meeting I can’t just talk to you right now I already blocked off 4 hours for your later when you said you’d come. And the guy was all mad when I finally answered the door

This exact same thing happened to me then they emailed me an estimate for 20 grand to redo our fireplace!!! I was like huh??? I was in a meeting and don’t believe what you are telling me cause I couldn’t see what you did.

Don’t want to be at Debbie downer here but…. This is customer service in America/the world these days AND IT PROBABLY WONT GO BACK. My parents live in North Carolina I live in Tennessee. Well, in the last year, both my parents and myself have dealt with very similar stories that you were dealing with. I’ve had lawn care people just ghost us! On the Nextdoor app and on some of these Facebook group pages for me locally I’ve heard plenty of stories just like that. My parents are in their mid 60s and they swear it was not like this when they got their first place in the late 70s up until mid 2000s. Companies were honest, had honest employees and kept their word for the most part.

I feel your pain. It's really hard to find anyone who does a good job anymore. It's really frustrating to see the lack of courtesy. When my husband and I do receive good service we are quick to point it out to the person and their supervisor.

As a stay at home mom I run our house. Appointments, taxi, stylist, short order cook etc… Let me tell ya, dealing with service appointments are the bane of my existence.

I did not get any communication on the delivery of a couch from Pottery Barn. The delivery window was anytime between 9-6. At 6 o’clock they still haven’t arrived. I went out and get a text at 6:20 that they are at the house for the delivery - um, no. I cancelled the entire order of a custom couch because of a horrible delivery experience.

I haven't gotten through the entire video but I'll just say I had this type of thing happen with Orkin. They pulled that crap on me like 3 times back to back while I was working, had two teens and and toddler and was 9 months pregnant. After the third time I wound up cancelling with them and they TRIED to charge me for the rest of my contract. (Which was only that last treatment anyway, btw.. ) I REFUSED TO PAY. ESPECIALLY since the bugs were WORSE after nearly a year of treating. They had a credit company try to get that last payment out of me (for a treatment that was never even done, mind you) for almost a year. I finally told them that I was about to file a harassment charge on them if they called me back and proceeded to tell them why. THIS IS UNCALLED FOR. PEOPLE HAVE LIVES. DO YOUR JOB OR BE GONE... Sorry this happened to you.

Happened to us with xfinity. We were paying $70 a months for crappy service, waiting on techs, bill constantly changing so we threatened to just cancel and BOOM! Our bill dropped down to $30 a month for the highest speed Internet and a tech installing a new modem at 8:00am the next day😂

When I was in college and getting our internet service set up they gave me a window of like 12pm-5pm for the tech to come install things. I thought cool, I get out of class at 10 that day, I can just sit around and wait for them. I get out of class that day and check my phone to see a voicemail saying that a technician came to my house at 9:25am to install and I wasn’t there so my appointment has to be moved to the next day. I very assertively(angrily) called and was told it didn’t matter they didn’t show up during the window of time I was told to expect them and I should have been grateful they could have got me in so quickly. 😆

Girl, I so sympathize. My fridge stopped cooling two weeks ago and it’s sitting in pieces still. The tech said he would fix it this past Monday but just never came. They don’t show up then lie to cover their ass. But they just don’t care.

Ugh ,i don`t think customer service exists here in the Uk (for the most part anyway!).We`ve had a new boiler system installed this week ,and after so many missed appointments ,they arrive at 6.50 am ,and completed the job around 3 pm.At 10 to 4 the same afternoon i get a knock on the door...Hi i`ve come to install your boiler"!!! Dear Lord ,do these customer service people EVER relay messages ,back and forth wiith their crew?? I highly doubt it ,and can totally understand your frustration ! Nothing is worse than hanging about waiting for someone to turn up. here ,our "window" is usually 8 to 3 ,depending on the job! Fun times!:)

While I can’t speak for companies not calling you, I can give an explanation for tradesmen being late (or early). It’s not physically possible for them to keep precise times when offering service. They arrive at the first appointment and that goes wrong due to various issues. Equipment breaks. Customer needs more work done. Run into a hornets nest. Employee has an accident. And so on and so forth. They can’t leave mid appointment to get to you and they can’t stop to call everyone and say sorry you have to wait. Until you work in the field, don’t criticize others. Also most of the people complaining DON’T EVEN WORK OUTSIDE THE HOUSE. Stay at home moms and retired folks are the worst.
