Yes they have codes but cheesecake factory has the option to just type in table number to open a check instead of going to all of the open tables under your name to open The coincidence does make me think she messed up with the order. But it's definitely possible. I've rung in the wrong food under the wrong table a few times.

I've waitressed before, but not at Cheesecake Factory. 😂 Depending on the situation, I'd just keep it moving or sometimes I would tell the customer what the issue was, whether it be my fault or not. But I'd never lie about adding to someone's order or whatever. And I'd never blame someone if it wasn't their fault. I usually owned up if it was me. Customers seem to appreciate that more.

Glad y’all are able to be in good spirits after a bad experience. I was a waitress for years at many different restaurants , and I’ll tell you exactly what happened…. First off, this waitress could have just been inexperienced/new and it was a Saturday which is the busiest day of the week at the vast majority of restaurants, but from what you said, I would guess that the hostess sat y’all in a waitress’s section and that waitress was too busy to take your table so eventually, they had to find y’all another waitress which is why y’all weren’t seated near your waitress’s other tables. When this happens, you just naturally get overlooked a little bit because the waitress is able to walk to her section and look over all her tables easily to see if anyone needs anything. So for example if table 1, 2, and 3 are all next to each other and she walks to her section and table 1 is ready to order and table 2 needs mayo, she’d likely go to table 1 so they can tell her their order, goes to the kitchen grabs the mayo, brings it to table 2, goes back to the kitchen to put table 1’s order in the computer, and walks back out to her section. Well now, table 3 need two refills for a coke and a water, and table 1 needs another alcoholic beverages so she goes back to the kitchen, puts the alcoholic beverage in the computer so the bartender knows to make it, grabs the two refills brings them to table 3, goes to the bar to grab the alcoholic beverage, brings it to table 1, and meanwhile table 4 is across the restaurant and she hasn’t been able to check on them. Now, what you’re waitress said about the another waiter/waitress putting an order onto your table is absolute bullshit. She was just trying to save face. Lol. What actually happened is, y’all ordered food and an appetizer at the same time, being that y’all’s food order was so “simple” (in her words), she probably didn’t write down your entree order… and she also didn’t walk always from the table and put your food in immediately. Instead, she put your appetizer in the computer only because she didn’t want to risk your appetizer and food coming out at the same time, but when she went to put in your food order, she misremembered what y’all had asked for. She was probably getting the sides confused with another table. Well, if an order goes to the table and the order is wrong and the kitchen needs to remake the order, the waitress has to re-enter the food into the computer. This is for inventory purposes and so that the kitchen cooks can keep track of orders. This happens literally all the time at every restaurant, and what you’re supposed to do is have the manager comp or delete the two incorrect burgers before you bring the receipt out to the table. She clearly forgot to do that though which is why it was still on your bill.

Oh yeah and waiters/waitresses also have a number dedicated to them. This number is usually the last 4-digits of their social security number and it’s put in every time they use the computer. their not supposed to share the number with other servers/waiters or anyone. So the only way another server could have accidentally put food in under your table is if your server accidentally left your table open on the computer and walked away from the computer and then another server walked up to the computer to put in food for another table without noticing. Being that, every time you use a computer as a server, you have to put your number in first and then click the table you want to put food/drinks under, its very unlikely that that a waiter/waitress wouldn’t notice that they’re putting food under the wrong table especially because the order was crazy close to what y’all actually ordered. Also, if she had put it in correctly the first time, then it wouldn’t have taken soooo long for y’all to get your food.

I’m the most impatient person when it comes to wait staff in a restaurant, and that’s a management problem. I wouldn’t have waited half a long as you for even a drink order, much less that long for my food or a corrected ticket, and I wouldn’t have been nice about it.

OMG I have had 2 AWFUL experiences at Cheesecake Factory. Once in Vegas, we sat for 30 minutes before we got water so we left. Another time we tried one by our house our hamburger that we requested to be medium well but it was rare…really rare. My husband sent it back and the customer sitting next to us, told us that if we didn’t complain he was going to for us. 😂 We’ll never go back there again! Also when I read the thumbnail before watching I said to myself, it’s probably the Cheesecake Factory 😂

I eat at restaurants a lot and I always notice when a mistake is made and they have to remake the food, most of the time they don't comp the original food on the receipt. They try to charge me for my food and their mistake. When i bring it up to them, they always fix it, but they don't always apologize. Here's my conspiracy: I think they purposely charge us for the original food and then the re-make to get themselves a higher tip. They're hoping I overlook it and just tip based on the total. It makes me so mad. I think it's conniving and or careless

I promise it’s not on purpose because they want you to tip more. I was a server for years from age 16-23. And mistakes with the food happen everyday at every restaurant. The thing is, when the food goes out to the table wrong, the kitchen has to remake the food so servers/waiters are required to re-enter the food into the computer so that the kitchen makes it correctly and for inventory purposes. This is required regardless of whether it was your waiter’s fault or the kitchen’s fault. When the waiter brings the receipt, a lot of waiters forget because when you take dozens of tables a day, you just open the table on the computer, click print real fast, put the receipt in a black book, and drop it off to the table. Basically, none of the servers double check that the receipt is correct before dropping it off because 99% of the time, it’s correct. So it’s just an oversight. Where I can see a server/waiter doing it on purpose is if they’re too afraid/embarrassed to ask the manager to comp the incorrect food because the waiter made a mistake. At basically every restaurant, managers are the only ones who are able to delete or comp something from a bill. This is to prevent servers/waiters from stealing.

Another thing to note: if this happens, and you’re curious whether the food coming out incorrect was the waiter’s fault or the kitchen’s fault, you can usually tell from the receipt. If you were charged twice for the same exact thing, then it was most likely the kitchen’s fault. For example, if you ordered a chicken alfredo but you get shrimp alfredo and the receipt is charging you for two chicken alfredos, then this was a kitchen error. Additionally, most temperature errors for burgers and steaks are 99% of the time a kitchen error. This little tip can help you when trying to scope out if the waiter is lying because a lot of the time when waiters make a mistake they’ll blame it on the kitchen to try to save their tip.

I worked for the cheesecake factory, 10 years. Dressings are in the back and prep but mustard should be up front, so idk about that. Also, yes another server can add things to your check. You just put in the table number, if a server is in a rush, they might put table 61 instead of 51. I think she messed up, couldnt handle her tables and was trying to save face. I have always hated lying to i would fess up. I once forgot to ring in 2 steaks, med well, on a Friday night and freaked out, told the chef, he said he'd tell the table they messed them up but i had already told them. 30% of the time people are understanding, 70%, they treat you like a child, look at you with disdain, and request something free in return.
