Dude! I’m an American who has been living in Cambodia for a little over 8 years. Discovered your channel yesterday and did a mini binge watch of what you’ve been up to. I vote giving cambo a little more time. I personally love it here. It’s definitely not for everyone but maybe don’t check it off just yet. 😊

Most people retire in Southeast Asia long term because they have retirement money and pension money, if they have money on hand to retire then that is a good idea to live long term in Asia. But if I don't have retirement money then that is bad idea to live long-term. We have to have income to pay for housing, food, etc,... I can come back to Mekon southern Vietnam live in my parent's house for free, but the pay In Vietnam is only $500 per month with no health insurance, I rather make minimum wage in the US and pay for rent or live in the car.

The weather here in the winter season is really pleasant and actually cool in the shade, if you think it’s hot now wait until the hot season and 40+C heat…also, staying in the city is crazy, thats why I live in Chhbar Ampov…Siem Reap will be crazy over the new year, if you need to get away, go to Battambang or Kampot. Or take the ferry from behind Cambodiana to LA (Lvea Aem) and visit the Vietnamese community along the river (start from the church)

I think you shouldn’t move back to LA or the USA permanently. One of the reasons why people watch your KZbin videos to get insight on live in Asia. Most Americans know the life growing in Los Angeles and communist Cali. If they don’t they can experience pretty easily with a quick trip. I see many KZbinrs their viewership dropped dramatically when they do videos in places they are very familiar with like in LA, SD, & SF. Most of us are looking to escape those places. Good place to visit but i never want to live there anymore. Go visit Dalat Vietnam. The weather is great there similar to San Francisco if you want enjoy great weather on a budget.

@ anytime my Asian brother. I am looking to relocate to Vietnam next year too when my daughter finishes high school. I visited Cambodia many times back then and i also find it pretty hot and more boring when compared to places in Vietnam, Taiwan, and Thailand. It’s much more expensive than Vietnam too. Only rent and house prices are cheaper but everything else is pretty expensive. But i love the girls scene at the NAGA Casinos and girls in the new Chinatown 😆.

You have to think that what you are doing is just a “REPETITIONS” of “PREDICAMENT” something that had “HAPPENED,” to you in the STATE of CALIFORNIA. “ATLEAST, In CAMBODIA you will “LIVE” and, YOU won’t be “STARVING,” to “DEATH,” like in the U.S.A..

I cant stand humid weather also. But, the way things are here in the states now... things are looking gloomy and you not only see the downfall of the US happening right before your eyes, but you can also feel it. Its wild that you even miss it and you miss sleeping in your camry? You have a cheap apartment to stay in. You have so many things you can do there. So many things to explore. I thought you no longer want to be part of the rat race? You know how overrated it is to live in this sorry country called USA? I would love to trade places with you right now. People from other countries are also observing the deteriorating state of the US. They can no longer hide the truth.

If U want to be Successful as "KZbinr,"- U need to change your presentations! Meaning, why don't you Focus on Food. What Cambodian's eat, their food and How they cook their Food! Go to Restaurants and ask food their food. Try to eat the food with the camera focusing on you and become a "Critic," IF the Food is Good or Not! Also, IF the Location is Good Spot for Tourist to go or Not! What's the Danger side Traveling to Cambodia! Like ex: Tourist should start listening and be Aware of the Laws of the Land of Cambodia! Try to Ask People about their Life style!

It is lovely over there except the hot Sunny weather of April and May is seriously inhospitable feeling dangerously like Mercury instead of a paradise called Earth. It made me feel sick and deathly, but wasn't concerned of malaria and dengue out of taking doxycycline. One needed the rest and relaxation of a home away from home instead of chaotic over stimulated culture shocked walking ATM targeted by a few with a deep sense of entitlement that America owes them reparations viewing us as filthy stinking rich. It was a super awkward thing to venture out into rural village with a local man drinking beer eating yellow mangos seining for small catfish in the backwaters of the Tonle Sap during dry season while being told America is not a friend of theirs asking me why I've come to Cambodia to die. His mom and grandma stared in disbelief sensing they carried great fear saying police randomly move them around regularly over the years to less desirable places like sunny hills without ponds and shade trees with huge amphoras of brackish water breeding mosquitos for rice, alcohol, and thirsty squealing piglets in a small wooden habitat behind the single wall open air kitchen. Their open air kitchen had two functions one being a huge communal rice cooking pan and the other a moonshine distillery along with piglets reserved for roasting on auspicious days like holidays. I was like, uh, I guess I have some history lessons to embrace instead of pretending the world is a global democracy centering around the United States many people held as the high endeavor to Stop Wars which sometimes appear as a knock off Star Wars looking T-shirt. Regardless which country, time zone or planet of the galactic federation, the idea to grab an audiences' attention is to tell stories that captivate and intrigue which can be about old cultures giving way to global technocracy in a world undergoing unprecedented change or perhaps sadly the last of the free range birds, bees, and wild elephants. The lady on the traditional loom in an old royal palace no longer culturally vibrant and relevent is probably the last of an old traditional going back many centuries for the corporations are serious about high tech robots and AI over humans. Americans used to be focused only on domestic bread and circus of narcistic half hour sit coms, football, and propaganda idiot box racket about a great dream one has to be asleep to believe, but today are more interested in the entire world and how one can possibly be free, sovereign, and independent individuals without the conundrum of dire straights, debt economics, terror, and corporate employers.
