My Purple kale is almost 5 feet tall with a 1 1/2" stalk. Lacinato is about 2 or so feet tall. They havent bolted yet and are doing great. My premier kale is doing terrible and hasn't bolted.

How does it taste in the summer time?

@@OurLibertyHouse purple kale is very strong even in the winter. Its stalks are bitter, but the leaves are decent. Premier is better. Milder flavor. Purple kale is a bit unpalatable to some, especially in the summer. My portuguese buddy doesnt seem to mind, he uses it in soups. But i like my greens southern so the purple kale really stands out in that style.
