After living here for 20+ years going from 80k in city limits, I lived on 13 acres outside city. Now God knows how many are here. Bend was a good well mannered town. But in the last few years it really transitioned to a soft Cali/Portland town. More homeless than ever, more Dui's, housing has tripped in price and small businesses are struggling due to lack of workers wanting outrageous wages or begging for government assistance. More and more beautiful land is being sacrificed daily in order to house new people. Soon enough we will have no clean air, no view, and no privacy.

Traffic is terrible here in Oregon. I thought California was bad when I moved. It is so bad since they do not have freeways here. It is all two lane roads.

I’m visiting this upcoming week as I am considering relocating (went to college in Oregon and have wanted to find my way back ever since) but, I heard that Bend, Or residents won’t be very accepting of me as a Californian.

Californians are welcome by most, just avoid LaPine, Redmond, Prinevillle. The city is now over 60% Democrat.

Traffic = population growth. Constant road & housing construction is an excuse for "more jobs" that never solves the root problem of limits.
