One thing I like is that they're leaning into Hashut as a god of industry. He delights in land that has been trampled, polluted and strip mined to the point of sterility, because he sees that as evidence of hard work and progress. It kind of goes with the idea that Chaos Gods embody seemingly noble truths warped and taken to deranged extremes.

@Luke Terpstra Belphegor is the devil of invention. He works with Mammon by crafting devices and ways to make mortals' lives easier - inventions that end up easing the toil of "living properly" so that they are more prone to sinning i.e. becoming lazy. If you figure that sort of inactivity suits Nurgle's stagnation, sure. But I like to think that Hashut is his own thing, his own power and all that

@The Wacko We live longer, healthier lives in a more peaceful world than at any time in human history. We're about to allow capitalism to make it go out of control as we are destroying the planet for profit, but progress in and of itself isn't bad. It's the rapacious, unrestrained, always needing to grow and expand kind of progress our civilization embodies that is bad and unsustainable.

The chaos dwarves used to be slavers using a whole load of different races in their army, so using humans as the front line scouts makes perfect sense for them, why waste dwarf lives when they can send in expendable humans.

While I wanted to see chaos duardin, it makes sense the vanguard would be humans - they’re expendable. I feel like the chaos duardin would be more cautious with the lives of their own race when they have legions of slaves and vassals to throw at a mission instead, before the “real” army comes.

As someone who was introduced to Fantasy via the Chaos Dwarfs, they will always have a special place in my heart despite never really having a chance to collect them properly myself. But it's because they occupy that special place that something like the Horns of Hashut make me angry. Humans being in the warband isnt the problem. Afterall, the original roster for the chorfs was comprised heavily of ork and hob-goblin units, so it's fine for the chorfs to have slaves or minor followers from other races. The problem is that there isn't a single chorf to be seen - despite the fact that two other totally unrelated warbands have them (iron golems and spire tyrants, I believe). The warband that has the literal name of the god of chaos dwarfs in it, doesn't have a singular dwarf in sight. GW had the chance here to make an extremely unique warband here. They could had a group of slaves and fanatics from different races bound under the command and oversight of a single Chaos Dwarf master. Instead they opted for human cultists that wouldn't look that out of place as Khorne followers with a few modifications and slightly more red. I know GW hates the Chaos Dwarfs, and I know they've been trying to erase or ignore them since 6ed, but this feels particularly disrespectful.

Oh, PLEASEEEEEE get the Chaos Dwarves into Sigmar. They were the Dwarves who possesses canons, giant mechs, and even slaves with demonic souls. They can be seen carrying the Hell Canon in WH2-3 Total War. They have a weird Persian, Slavic look to their armor and clothing. They have cannibalistic-mutated, half Dwarf-Bull men as elite Cavalry. They are the only dwarves who can cast magic, though it consumes their body and soul, feet first, with each spell. The Mages are seen as heroes and their "statues" align the stairs to their great fortress. They genetically created the Black Orcs to be better slaves, before they escaped into the wild.

One thing that was cool about hashut in the world that was is that he enabled the dwarves who served him to use magic, Which was something normal dwarves could not do. In the old world dwarves were not meant to use magic (runes are their own thing) and so with the chaos dwarves there was a price to using magic. The more they grew in power, the more of their bodies would turn to stone eventually turning them into statues.

Ahh Hashut the father of darkness. In warhammer fantasy he had 2 origins, one was he was a demon prince of Khorne who was sealed away in the Dark lands. he reached out to a lost party of dwarves who faced annihilation. He offered them a Faustian deal. The other is similar, but it’s as if he’s a god that kinda existed, and the party was desperate so they prayed to him, and thus Hashut answered

Hushut, is the chaos god of fire and metal, those that serve him are biengs that build dark artificial, the land turns barren and molten lava flows like the blood of that land, in the world that was, the drawaves didn't dig deep enough when chaos first came to the world, thus they where desperate for survival praying to the ancestor gods for salvation but they did not answer instead hashut answer it was said that hashut was a deamon of khrone that serve as the blacksmith to the blood god braze armies, but what ever he was he corrupted the dawi to serve him and he saved them from there doom. Hashut follows tend to have the mutations of horns or even bullish features but there are some cool facts about them, one there high sorceress are the ruling fraction but there is a curse where the older they get the small banish of there curse manifest which turns them to stone, the second cool fact is that if one dishonour there clan or leader they are force to wear a sering hot molten helmet that magical keeps on burning and is stuck until that bieng repents to there masters. In age of sigmar I am genuinely curious as the the chaos drawaves tend to subjective outhers as slaves but there is the possibility that they are something akin to the cities of sigmar expect the serve as dark forges, but thing for sure is that if they want to add a new chaos god then hasut is the right one.

I wouldn't say he is the chaos god of fire and metal, but rather of greed and tyranny, which expresses itself in slave driven industry. Which I never really liked if I am honest. Because even heavily simplified it doesn't fit anymore

Hashut's followers must seek recourses and violences is justified if it brings more progress. Unlike Slaanesh, Hashut does not care about pleasure or perfection. Not actual canon but head canon is that Hashut represents the inevitable “order” that comes when one embraces pure chaos. Historically whenever true anarchy and chaos has enveloped a peoples or nation, it eventually reforms some kind of order. I would say Hashut is very much in this vain. His strongest and most faithful warriors enjoy the benefits of heavy industry and booming economies, but just like all the chaos gods it’s tainted by the darkness that is slavery, and brutal tyrannical rule… still my guess is that it’s more “stable” of life then living with some of the other chaos gods.
@Kragnorak2 жыл бұрын
Probably way more stable than living under an "Order god" like Morathi-Kaine. I just know she's embraced the elven aspect of Khorne, but I'm not sure if the GW world-builders realize this or not
