It would have made sense for there to be a God of Law to oppose Slaanesh once they had decided to include her as a Chaos God, at least in 1st or 2nd Ed, I seem to remember some talk about a being known as Somorphia but only the name, not really any specific facts on them.

Considering Games Workshop properties have stagnated for decades until relatively recently, with nothing ever changing, I'd say now would be a good time to re-introduce the Gods of Order, and perhaps even Malice.

I’ve been read the Gotrek and Felix books and there are several mentions of there being something underneath Praag that keeps attracting the Chaos hordes every time they attack the Old World. And Teclis might know what it is.

Be'Lakor is also a rework of Malice, directly replacing him for his introduction. As well there is Necoho, Zuvassin and the Screaming Child God who overlap the concept in replacement.

I think Solkan remaining canon might mean GW could repourpose the gods of law, but I doubt they would make them into counterparts/similar in power to the big four Chaos Gods. I think they might remain a unique pantheon worshipped all throught the Old World, whose worshippers unilaterally oppose Chaos, but aren't in a possition to rival the big four in terms of scale or power. Solkan would be worshipped by inquisitors in Tilea and Estalia, Witch Hunters in the Empire and other groups obssesed with purping the influence of Chaos from society. Alluminas would be worshipped by human mages who seek to master magic without falling to corruption, but isn't officially recognized by the elf-founded colleges of magic. Arianka would remain in stasis beneath Kislev, as she attempted to directly fight the Chaos Gods millenia ago and was thus broken and cast down, with very few even remembering legends of her let alone worshipping her. However, there are those who believe the Ancient Widow who called the Gospodars beyond the World's Edge Mountains and gave them mastery over Ice Magic is either Arianka herself or an aspect of her, and thus Kislev's defiance against the darkness of the north continues Arianka's attempted defiance against the four brothers. Or at least, that's how I would do it.

I think the fact that a light Wizard sais: "Alluminas calls" is a simple gimmick they have a lot of nice eastereggs like that. For example if skaven flee they some times say "scabbers come back" wich is a reference to Harry Potter :) Edit: You should totaly make a video on all easter Eggs in TW Warhammer ^^

With that said they are a conundrum to our glorious pantheon, their self proclaimed "Law" nullifying our Lords will wherever they deemed fit when their power was a mighty bulwark amidst the tide of endless space against the raging storms of the Great Game but no Daemon proclaimed the Game is fair and thus they fell from their Thrones of Infinity being a distant memory but make no mistake my child for even their forgotten state they are still Gods of Chaos. Beings of Law and Radiant Order sure but should they ever rise in power again could unleash a cleansing inferno against both Daemon and mortal alike. Make no mistake, Law is just a condition that counters the very concept of Chaos but even those that proclaim themselves as Law can to bring forth Chaos to you and I". Thanks for covering these ancient relics. Forgot that even Gods can collect dust.

I recall gods of law and chaos in the Fighting Fantasy world book Titan by Steven Jackson and Ian Livingston circa mid 1980s. Can see how it crept into early Warhammer...

I think that if they come back as not just misunderstood lesser gods of Chaos, that they should be as dangerous as Chaos in a different way. The description of Alluminas certainly hints at that, the immobilising light being close enough to death for those affected by it. Maybe Chaos is ascendant at the moment over the mortal world but the existence of the force/realm of Order stops it from overtaking the world completely?

This reminds me a little of Dragon Age Origins Awakening. How there are good and evil entities in the Fade, we just know more about the evil ones because they are constantly trying to come to the material realm. And in Awakening you accidentally bring bag a good spirit of Justice and it inhabits a corpses body. Justice was my favorite character in that expansion.

They could function like jyggalag is the other side of the coin to sheogorath in the elder scrolls, representing the two extremes of existance, while also both being so flawed that the right way would be to stay away from both

You know, Great Book of Grudges, I was just thinking that the Gods of Order, about this video, that is, would be of good use to Total War Warhammer III because it would be super-awesome if, say, we have the Nations and Gods of Order going against the Nations and Gods of Chaos.

The Warhammer Fantasy lore is stolen from/inspired by the "Corum: The Prince in the Scarlet Robe" novels of Michael Moorcock in the 1980s. Go and read any of his novels. Gods of Law, Gods of Chaos, the Realm of Chaos, Daemons serving the Chaos Gods, the Chaos Gods giving magical powers to their mortal champions... And Corum is basically the primarch Magnus from WH40k: Associated with the color red, one-eyed, a powerful magician, torn between good and evil, exists in time and space as split into multiple individuals.

hey thank you for this. seriously, I've been using some of the first and second edition lore to right some of my fan fiction that i hope to make prominent fiction for Warhammer and its nice to have some coverage from a separate perspective. maybe the lore of ice is a lesser lore of crystal magic. and maybe kislev could use such lore if the keys as well as her coffin perforate with magics

I remember a map from the 1980s or 90s that had the southern Wastes labeled as the law Wastes not chaos Wastes. The polar opposite of the chaos northern Wastes. I'd love to find it/hear about it.

I would love to see the Gods of Law back - along with the alignment concept from 1st edition. Chaotic - Evil - Neutral - Good - Lawful. And although I made Arianka the central point of few of my Warhammer Role Play campaigns, I wish we could know what happened with her in lore. Just give us Law and Order (pun intended) back :)

The Mordagg has turned up recently, it was in an AoS horror novel? Castle of Blood. Having previously been in one of the Brunner books (which also referenced Solkan)? C L Werner also wrote Castle of Blood... I guess he likes this daemon lol

If they wanted to port something like this to 40K, I'd imagine they could simply use the shards of the Emperor scattered throughout the Warp. The Emperor's Wrath, The Emperor's Compassion, The Emperor's Virtue, etc. Give the shards all their own names and make them all individually less powerful than the Ruinous Powers and there you go.

The Gods of Law strike me as moderately un-canon these days. As in, they were originally a thing, but were mostly dropped in favor of other ideas. They'd be a fun idea for some sort of additional TW3 content down the line, but are otherwise unnecessary.

The erasure of all of human pantheon in AoS was one of the things that pushed me away from it. I mainly DM fantasy rpg and never played tabletop so all of pantheon was awesome for me, now there is no mention of Verena of Myrmidia. And in book of salvation we can find (and create) many more cults and lesser gods. But in AoS there is just Sigmar, bummer :-/.
