Wow what a very unique skill and art this man has. He is up there with a doctor, mechanic and engineer. Clocks can be very complicated and exact instruments.

Thank you for creating this! It's quite fascinating! I'm currently finishing up a screenplay about a horologist; "After the death of his Father, a boy becomes obsessed with time keeping."

Young people interested in some bench time with me may apply at: r.j.renaud@magma.ca At this time, there is a preference for a female student. Later in 2013 there may again be a possibility for a male student. Past students have been impressed with the skills they picked up here, and some are working as clockmakers. R.J. Why don't you try building your own clocks and selling them? I would find watch/clock repairing to be a bit boring. Designing and building watches like Roger Smith or George Daniels seems so much more appealing. If I had all of that knowledge, I'd be building my own clocks.

@@watchmanexpert I'm sorry for the tone in my last message, it was a bit disrespectful. I have massive respect for anyone who is an experienced watch/clockmaker, regardless of whether they "just' repair, or whether they build their own pieces from scratch. I'm just curious if you have ever made a clock or watch from scratch just for the fun of it? Or even from spare parts if not from scratch. Did you ever try that just for fun? You may be surprised at who is interested in your pieces...
