Very interesting I am a retired watchmaker in Dublin and have been working on antiques clocks, and glad to say a museum has opened in Waterford , which I have visited and is brilliant. Best regards, Eamonn

Interesting. A hobby that keeps watches / clocks alive despite being redundant! (yes I do have a mechanical watch in my wearing collection - A Seiko Sarx055)

The physics theory talks the most about clocks is the two theories of relativity. Einstein had to review many patents on clock synchronization during his time in the Zurich patent office. Historians now think that this had a major role on how successfully Einstein could formulate his though experiments about space and time.

Fascinating video, now here’s a craft that should hold the future generations captivated, even the ones who think only about the Rolex bling.

Loved the video! I do have some questions in regards to hand making a time piece and all its parts what skills are needed is drawing an aspect? Id imagine hand tools and the use of them at such small and precise scale I saw you use a table torch at one point for joining some part, lathe work too right? Im super interested and i WISH the Uk was closer that book collection must be amazing to go through im going to look into groups like yours here in new york city and see if i get any luck! Cheers

Sounds like the watch missed a second at :24 on the dial at 5:27 on the video. You can hear it and see it.
