Star Wars is so popular that literally everything you see on-screen has an extensive backstory. Including the monster pit that appears for less than 5 minutes.

"You will therefore be taken to the Dune Sea and cast into the Pit of Carkoon. The nesting place of the OLD Carkoon Sarlacc..." Can't be this one. 3PO makes it seem like the Carkoon Sarlacc has been there for a long time.

"The Sarlacc of Carkoon was an innocent little baby...blah blah" Even though it's not canon, sure sounds like Disney infused Star Wars, where nothing can be inherently evil like the "misunderstood Rancor".
@AlanRipman2 жыл бұрын
It comes down to realism. Factually speaking nothing is entirely evil. SW is an odd franchise. the first 3 movies were so bad. TCW made them make sense lol.
@thunderstudent2 жыл бұрын
If you want to get technical they aren’t inherently evil. They’re just animals doing what they need to do to survive. It’s what people like Jabba use them for that makes them into monsters. Tatooine is a harsh and unforgiving world.
@joseestevezhernandez5582 жыл бұрын
In the case of the sarlacc, rancor, etc... Makes sense, they are just animals , plants and stuff... Not really sentient to be evil per se
@TheScreenScience2 жыл бұрын
@@thunderstudent Sure, technically SW was made to sell toys, and is pure fantasy. So really why not have an entity/being that is inherently evil? I don't think everything that was once evil needs a documented redemption arc. But I digress, poor 8 year old me and my memory of how terrifying the rancor was is now gone forever lol.
@thunderstudent2 жыл бұрын
@@TheScreenScience I can agree that not every villain needs a redemption arc or something to make them sympathetic. But in the case of the rancor and sarlak they are just animals. If you’re looking for an irredeemable monster then look no further than the owner of the rancor, Jabba the Hutt.
