It’s that they insist on needing an entire planet. There is an immediate off putting selfishness that comes with that. I think that when they do eventually find somewhere to settle they will fail hard. Just get the impression they will be isolationists and end up being wiped out by spacers or local fauna.

That is a possibility. I was astounded by the request of the captain. But I helped the colony ship. Given the attitude of the suits in Paradiso I hope the colonists make a very successful colony. Both sides are not admirable but I found the corporate rats of Paradiso the worst of the two options. Population growth while a valid concern, the colonists are being selfish there. The corpo rats on the other hand are only worried about their bottom line. The colony ship's residents wouldn't know any other way of life outside of their ship. I do think there should be an option to put them in touch with the UC and/or FC though, that way they could get advice and hopefully make it easier to establish trade once they set up.
@allenaju1856
@allenaju1856 Жыл бұрын
@@blunthonesty8633it’s a good idea but I think the reason we were given these options is because it’s new world vs old world but with similar ideals different results, with the new world you can see why the two colony wars happened and why a third is just only one mess up away. With the old world you can see how Humanity lost earth and why old world government failed. Both are selfish and entitled and working with any group would be impossible as UC and FC both haven’t learned or gotten better after the colony wars but just able to hide it better in the public would most likely take advantage of them. And the ESC sees themselves as what Earth truly has to offer as their whole existence is because the rich and those and power, instead of helping humanity with getting everyone off earth they saw everyone else as dead people walking and abandoned ship knowingly to them they just left billions to die as they claim to be the founders of the new frontier, the ancestors of those people knowingly try to push a colonized planet out with the knowledge they practically did this whole voyage for nothing and that humanity thrived and advanced while they stayed time capsuled in the past and we also have to think how many planets they passed that was inhabitable but either ignored or don’t have the technology to know. They are better off with finding a new place because it’s like oil and water

Seriously. To complete the picture... Dead crewmen should not be burned. What an unforgiveable waste of resources! They should be liquidised and fed to the plants - which they could then grow nlre of and/or better, thus not having chronic malnutrition problems. It's kinda "soylent green", but it's exactly the kind of hard choice that needs to be made. You know, before resorting to outright canibalism.

Neither side thinking they can share a whole planet is ridiculous. It felt kinda lazy that there was zero compromise and only two options. Literally everyone I talked to was tired of being stuck in the ship for much longer. The grav drive route would have been much more awesome if you could found your own colony with them. Tons of possibilities with this one but it was a bland coin toss

So i was forced to kill them all and Andreja decided to exterminate all other civilians. So only the captain and a few unkillable crew stayed alive. To show them that i'm a good guy i went back one day later with the grav drive and we installed it with the remaining crew in the middle of a pile of corpses. Everybody was happy and thank me, i was their new hero, well i killed 95 % of them the day before but that was just a misunderstanding and nobody cared! The time discrepancy could be explained by the Constant traveling at near relativistic speeds. Since time is relative to the observer, we can assume that for them less "time" has passed.
@Cold_Cactus
@Cold_Cactus 5 ай бұрын
What? They are a generation ship... okay you don't know what that is .. um well a generation ship is sub light and takes hundreds of years to get somewhere , there is no "time discrepancy" those people on the ship today are the great grandkids of the people who left earth like 250 or so years before No time dilation, people where born lived and died before they ever reached Paradiso
@Cold_Cactus
@Cold_Cactus 5 ай бұрын
Also that's not how that phenomenon works the theroy is more like : the faster you go the slower time relatively feels or the closer you are to a object with extreme mass the slower time passes , it's the oppsite of what you said , the faster you go the slower time seems.. relatively I think that's bullshit tho , like for example in interstellar the big planet has a relative day of idk hundreds of hours relative to earth's rotation so the theory is 1 felt hour on that planet would equal how ever many days on earth , thus time discrepancy, but my theroy is : one hour feels like 1 hour no matter where you are , ie let's say planet x has a day night cycle of 100 hours , you wouldn't magically stay awake 50 hours then sleep 50 hours you would actually sleep 4 times in 1 day because a full 24 hour cycle for the human body would stay the same , you'd go through a whole day and wake up with it still being day time

I enjoyed this quest line but I had one major problem with it. There were items and bits of decoration on the Constant that are prevalent throughout the rest of the game which seems unlikely given that so much time has passed since the constant departed Earth. I understand why the decision was made to do it in this way but, it would have been nice to see some unique versions of the small electronics you tend to see cluttering a ship that show what an earlier generation of the same technology would have looked like.

I picked the grav drive route, and was able to catch up with the ship a few times before Starfield lost the location of it. (Same thing happened with the Va'ruun Shroudbearer), like I think the intent is that the ships move to different systems, but the quest trackers just point to a location where they aren't. If you pick this option you can also get one of their crew to leave the ship, and they will catch up with you on New Atlantis during the "long lost relative" quests. But overall I thought the ECS constant was a nice surprise.

@TenshiKisai
@TenshiKisai Жыл бұрын
@@chriss3208Yep, the ship will be around different planets in different systems. I eventually lost it and the location just goes back to the original Porrima II (Paradiso) location, but the ship isn't ever there. My guess is that it's a bug, and the game "cleans up" the location pointers if you don't immediately do the "find a relative" quests.

Anyways New Atlantis is a snake chasing its own tail, time doesn't exist there. Heck nothing actually really exist there but people see and THINK that they are there. So how to fix it timelapse? Finish the main story, back OUT OF THE UNITY not INTO it all the time. TALK TO COMPANIONS after, They will tell you that THEY ALWAYS ALSO BACK UP SINCE THEY ARE WAITING FOR WHO THE LAST ONE TO ENTER IS. anyways do their mission, gain their trust, build outpost on moon with dececnt base and amiliary. make sure the Constant has the jump drive. now find the rest of house vurrum. give andjrea the writings of the pilgrim. I disagree on your interpretation of the ECS Constant - I think it was much more a testament to the fortitude of the founders of the project as well as the inhabitants of the ship. A long time in the blackest sea means certain things will have to be done. It may seem dystopian for us but for the sake of their mission it was extremely vital. But yeah their system of handing out jobs is kind of laughable. NASA and similar programs have been going with a sort of "rugged individualism" approach. Meaning everyone has a specialty but can do more than one thing because space (and mass) are at such a premium. It looks like the ECS Constant's approach was "do this job or else" which isn't super healthy or smart.

My main gripe with this quest is that the ECS Constant, even after you help them with a new Grav Drive, never leaves Porimmo. Either it takes a lot of in game time to leave or its just a place holder. After nearly 4 days of game play, I check to see if the Constant is still in orbit around Porimmo and sadly is still there, either prepping or just being static. Aside from the silly selfishness upon reaching their destination, I find it hard to judge the day-to-day reality of the situation they were in. Morality is an expensive luxury for people living in situations in which there are finite resources and room. Sure, it's important to understand what will go into generations-long travel, and to be as prepared for it as one can possibly be, due to it volunteering future generations against their will for the sake of advancement, but the threat not only was far more prescient in Starfield, it's very much sound in our reality. All it takes is that one hurled stone, at astronomically low odds, to delete an entire planet, or a sufficient enough alteration in the solar system, such as a particularly vicious solar flare, to result in untold destruction and suffering for *nearly* everything on that planet. Take the problem, scale it down and rewind it back to another time period: a people migrate across a land bridge to a new, unfamiliar territory. The land bridge disappears due to not fully understood at the time environmental effects, such as a rising of the sea, or a tundra melting and breaking apart. The people do not have sufficient knowledge or technology to create safe passage back the way they came, though there are enough resources on this land mass that they might just survive, or even thrive. Life takes its course and new generations come and go, those generations knowing only the confines and resources of this new environment. Perhaps they lack access to the greater degree of development from where their people originated from, and similar to the Constant, are lapsed. Resources are scarce as, relatively, knowledge of the area and its resources is limited. It's not as though they were done a great evil by being born in these circumstances, it is simply the reality of their situation, and one in which there are clear parameters of how to survive, thrive and carry on, with the hope that one day things will be better. .. Let's just hope a scaled up and future example of this scenario won't have people as foolish and selfish as those on the Constant, who do not wish to compromise with their deliverance, due to some misguided sense of entitlement.

This game is really really poorly written or rather badly designed. The twins are interesting, the captain had potential, this whole ship and its inhabitants could have been used in a better way in fact we as the main character should have been part of it instead of the trash constellation. We barely know much about the old war or places in the current galaxy, we are constantly asking questions about anything and everything.... almost like we were born at the beginning of the game and have been in cryo sleep since the beginning of space travel. Being part of the constant would mean every time we travel to new systems, planet's, cities, etc, its a first and comes with different challenges. Instead this is just a side mission that can be solved in 3 underwhelming ways. Why didnt we help them by lookimg for a habitable planet? Why didnt we help them build an outpost etc? And if worst came to worst, why didnt we side with them and destroy Paradiso? We could destroy a whole town in fallout 3 but a beach resort is a hard task? Was really hoping for depth from this game but i just keeping getting shallow solutions.

The game is not complete and it doesnt have a good lore, remember, the computers inside the ship are the same computers as the rest of the universe ( those computers should be 200 years old outdated), the furnitrure is exactly the same as the rest of the universe too, that breaks immersion.

That would be awesome. It'd be like the Amagedst, but with NPCs you can talk to instead of just spacers to shoot

I blew them up and tried to extort homeboy in the office. He refused to pay me. Figured out you can't kill him sadly, so I slaughtered every living thing I could. Sarah was pissed, tried to kill her, she can't die either. I should be able to kill whoever I want in this game. It's b.s.

This ship is a very accurate representation of the inadequacy of the human race. There are only two mental health doctors on the ship but way more medical doctors than is needed. Mental health would far outweigh physical health in this scenario. Irl the mission would fail drastically but even w the ability to creat false gravity and some other things in this reality the fact they put mental health so low on the priority list was a huge mistake. I like the mission and the story game wise but definitely a good representation of the human races shortcomings. Let alone the fact the captain DEMANDS the entire planet be theirs when really they are doomed unless they make some exceptions.

I can imagine this: the second generation or the third one will revolt and turn the ship back to earth, humans tend to need to see everything with their own eyes, those generations would need proof and if we need to be realistic, the last information they have from earth was about a planet filled with life, so, coming back could be a good idea. But no, i hate the Starfield lore because is not consistent at all, we are dealing with a more realistic game than skyrim or fallout, you have to think it well and the original crew of the constant didnt had any reason to leave earth before the gravity engine existed.

it's wasted dedication in this game. sure. but if this fragment is not discovered on mar? maybe they will be the last of humanity for real. and im also think that if this happen irl they will arrage job before they launch the ship because at the time the earth is still fine they have time to select the most appropriate person for the job maybe some of them will get on because nepotism but the person who want to build something like this must have strong ideal in his mind.

The fact that the captain position was hereditary made me SMH like that is the dumbest decision whoever made it. Just asking for some coup to take place and driving division. But humans aren’t known for their rational thinking. Whoever had this idea was prolly the one funding it considering the teacher said the kids were from wealthy families. 😂 they were lit willing to sell out the human race to the highest bidder. Lol

That whole quest was half-assed. The crew dialog was boring and the ship interior didn't look 200 years old. They even had objects inside from the modern era, because Bethesda is lazy.
