While Vic's actions are horrible they are understandable. Humanity needed to start colonising space as fast as possible, and mass exodus was the shortest and the most effective way of doing that, very similar reasoning to Hunter's.

So there's an universe where Victor Aiza (or someone else) invented grav drives by themselves in time for Victor to have been able to collect all the artifacts in his own lifetime and become starborn and he made it his goal to pull as many Victors from as many universes as possible to ensure the invention of the grav drives and the colonization of the settled systems in as many universes as possible.

I'm 50% sure Victor aiza is keeper Aquilus/The Hunter. It seems that when jumping universes your position in time doesn't change. If you side with the hunter suring the final fight hell tell you that when he goes through the universal rips his favorite flashbacks are of earth and that he's alot older than we think. My guess is that a Victor aiza somewhere in the multiverse did all the legwork, made a grav drive, and found all the artifacts to make it to the unity. And then maybe bcuz his earth was destroyed he tricks other universes into leaving earth. And for those who say it can't be the hunter/keeper because Victor killed himself, note that only in the universes we visit has he done this and keeper aquilis is a starborn himself apart from the hunter. How is it that two versions of 1 person can exist in the same universe idk but apparently you can meet yourself thought it hasn't happened to me yet.

Hmh... I thought we are in what amounts to a a time loop, creating new universes on the way - but I guess people could just be very slow to resolve their problems and even years later nobody has done anything about, well... anything without player intervention. I mean yeah... that is how the game functions, multiverse or not - but now I'm imagining countless parallel universes I will never get around to mess with and how they are doomed to wallow in their problems for all eternity. ^^

Interesting idea for sure, even though we’ve heard victors voice, it could be a young keeper aquilous. You bring up a great point though, keeper aquilous is starborn, he’s the hunter but a version that has decided to stay in this universe after going through so many, but at the same time, the hunter exists in the universe…. How could that be possible?

I can kind of understand Other Victor's actions even if it doesn't justify them, it's a lot like us as the Starborn. When you jump around parallel universes the values and ethics behind actions aren't as significant. As the Starborn, we can choose to have pirates roam the universe or release mind-control chips to the public and it doesn't matter because we reset into another universe. It's either that or some pre-destiny thing Other Victor interpreted he had to do.

Based on the logs and what both Hunter and Em says I think the destruction of Earth was done purposefully as 'other' Vic's goal was to force humanity into the stars as quickly as possible. (Haven't finished the video yet so apologies if you mentioned this.) *edit* ... a slight clarification is that I don't think the 'current universe Vic' knew the grav drive could be fixed as easily as it was.

Well it was a trade off. Either take to the stars and loose Earth, or stay on Earth and deal with diminishing resources, climate change, overpopulation, ect. @@TinMan445except that the drives could have been designed correctly from the beginning, apparently with ease, if the danger was known. Space drives could have gotten humanity out into the galaxy, and Earth would have been fine. He made the choice to hide that knowledge so that all of humanity would be forced off earth. He sacrificed Earth’s biom to accelerate colonization of other worlds.

@@michaelbarnard8529except earth was still dying even without the magnetosphere problem, over population, dwindling resources, climate change, there may not have been enough time to properly develop the grav drives without the brute force testing. @@NefasQS It definitely didn't need the push. They were able to fix the grav drive and could have done so sooner if Vic confessed so we know that the main point was to give people no other option. With the grav drives humanity would of gone out and done what it did just Victor wanted to live out his fantasy as we see he is bored with just sending out satelities and things like that. Another thing is the future in starfield isn't some utopia people are suffering still so, the sacrifice of the planet and people was unnecessary because so what if we go out into the stars a bit faster
@death299
@death299 9 ай бұрын
it isn't worth it when you nearly wipe out your own species, and just casually kill everything but goats from earth. and the future isn't amazing or a utopia, they make it clear the entire time they've been struggling to survive and are constantly on the brink of collapse even when war is avoided

The problem with that thinking is, that obviously it is possible for the grav drive to be made save, considering that they use them all the time, and no planet shares the fate of Earth. Also obviously, the Dr. Aiza from the future knew how to do it. He provided the equation after all, and it take them just a little modification to make it save. So there was no reason to include that modification from the get go, keep Earth alive and still have the grav drive and the whole settled systems available.

What bugs me is that even if we lose the magnetic sphere we could actually replace its by a giant electromagnent at the Lagrange point between the earth and the sun. It would take the power output of two fission plants but considering they evacuated earth that may have been easier to do. This also means they can fix the earth but there to lazy to do this.

Perhaps the developers either didn't think of this, wanted interstellar nations to exist on relatively equal footings or just wanted to not model a futuristic Earth for the player to explore. It's the lack of biocontrol and vertical farms that annoyed me before I read your comment.

yeah...no, that is literally only a theory that no one is even sure would work,, moreover we (and they) literally don't have the tech to make something like that work in the first place, the hopes is further research will lead to it being possible but it isn't. and they DIDN'T evacuate earth, they evacuated a fraction of the population while most died, do you have any idea how many resources would be needed to make a theoretical project feasible when the tech isn't there and then implement it before the mass extinction of the planet? even attempting it odds of failure are insanely high

it doesn't. play it again (or watch it) brakenbridge studied a bunch of different situations that could lead to an extinction level event (climate change, astroid strike, nuclear war, pandemics "and more") and came to the conclusion earth would be hit by one within 50 years and that was the assumption the crew had for generations, that earth became uninhabitable due to one of those situations, not a magnetosphere collapse it's basically sheer freaking chance that they launched right before an extinction level event started..albeit one he didn't predict, but they weren't fleeing the effects of the grave drive

I have a better idea for the Lore of Earth: the artifact that is working on NASA, change into the armillary maybe like the base of it, its was always on earth, the scientists discovered that artifact on mars, then they combine it with the armillary on earth, after that they started experiments, yes, it was the base of every gravitational engine, but, the experiment never ended, the moment they started experimenting with the armillary no one was capable of turning it off, so, it created a complete field of alterated gravity, it falled to the center of earth, now the planet has an alterated gravity all around the planet with sudden random Peaks of gravity, that way you would found floating broken cities like the temples you found on the universe, or suddenly when you came to earth a city starts floating, just after you arrive on earth, as part of a scripted quest, the main quest. Well, our mission as the protagonist is to turn off the artifact and no one exept someone with Stellar powers can do it, it could be a perfect way to use you powers, maybe the shield, some power to manipulate gravity, etc, all of that until you get to the core and turn of the Armillary with those artifacts on it.
@SABaruj
@SABaruj 9 ай бұрын
Imagine news reporting some zero gravity on a big city, but, suddenly the gravity becomes bigger than earth and some skycrappers broke and fall, that could be epic as a video of the start, or imagine being able to go to universe where this is starting, maybe a limited quest where you say some things but you come back to your universe fast, it was futile, but, at least the player lived how everything started.

Presumably in Starfield based on the ART’s message, humanity may have figured out ways to mitigate the effect of climate change on themselves. The atmosphere being stripped away in comparison is a much faster and violent destruction for the planet as a whole.

A science fiction story used a crazy science metaphor for a real life issue... that's like the least weird thing ever

@@BBRocker75 You agree? Good for you. If you do a Starfield reviews in google over 2000 people give it a 3.3 rating out of 5. If that's not mediocre I don't know what is. Both of you fan boys nothing more.

One month. The game has been out for one month and people still go out of their way to hate on it. Todd lives rent free inside your head.
