I'm so sorry. They are part of our family. We have four. We didn't plan on the last one, but she was heading back to the animal shelter the next day. She looked so scared. Broke our hearts. She's comfy now, and our other cats accepted her so easily. I hope you can rescue a cat. Not as a replacement, bc you can't replace one ever, but to save one and give it a home.

I cat sit for a friend...when it's time for the three to go home, two are no problem to get in a carrier...the third seems to enjoy a good 30-45 minute fight to the death/chase around the apartment with me, until she's caught...if somehow I trick her, and catch her, and get her in the carrier fast, she then sulks the whole car ride home, usually while I remind her I won...🐈

WE have 2 inside cats and feed four (or more) neighborhood strays at an outside feeding station. One of the neighbors dog will also come to the feeding station and eat all of the food. Fluffy, our indoor Norwegian Forrest cat takes offense and will attack the storm door when she sees the dog. She ignores the outside cats and all other critters (racoons,possums,etc) that come to eat.

So sorry to read of your loss! 👇 My 16 year old cat, (now passed) had a terrible time at the cattery, despite the best care.The day I picked her up, I thought she was pleased to see me & to be home, until nightfall, when she woke me at 2am, jumped on my shoulder & took a great bite out of it! Despite my yelling at her, she sauntered away, without a care in the world! Sometimes, holidays aren't worth the torment!! Luv ya, Simon's Cat Team! 😅❤

Gotta love that ending! Sometimes two or more of my cats (I have four) will be slumbering with me while I'm sleeping. Then one of them moves and encroaches on someone else's sleeping area and all of a sudden they decide to have a cat rumble, right on top of my crotch at 3:00 a.m. I certainly can relate.

Yes, I am the door & window slave to my cat. He demands easy access to his house at all times. It is SO annoying, but I don't want a cat door. One time he jumped in our open, screenless window with a snake. Dropped it right on the kitchen floor, like it was a prize. Oh Lord, life is never boring!!

I can relate to the pet carrier drama, we have 5 cats. Our unrest has Cerebellar Hypoplasia and doesn't walk so he's the easy one. If the 4 older cats, the 4 year old with anxiety it the absolute nightmare. He's topically very sweet and very, very week behaved. I can tell him to come see me later for a nail trim or medicine and he does. Even drugged, it's a fight to get him in the carrier. I had to buy those gloves for catching feral cats because he goes wild.

Oh boy I can relate to most of the happenings in this collection! But when it comes to taking my cats to the vet (over the years) one thing never seems to change. They always KNOW something is up even before they see the carrier cage. I try to be nonchalant but they sense the tension I guess, and disappear under the furniture. And as for trying to get them into the cage.....😳🙏

I live with 2 cats. Sometime i think, they are more clever than i am. The elder one was lost. She was tiny. A handfull of cat. I asked the farmer: dosnt it has a Mama? He said: No, this has got no mam. So i put her in my pocket. One of the best things i ever did.

you'll have less: doorman duties, flea dips, tick checks, cat injuries, unwanted 'gifts' of dead creatures if you keep your cat indoors. Or you could just keep feeding your cats to the roads/larger predators/killing off local smaller animals and maybe getting sick from someone else poisoning them. And "that doesn't happen here" only applies until it does. And if your cat "needs more entertainment" - that's on you, it's not the neighborhood's job to entertain your pet.

@@gabyp. Not difficult to understand. Simon mentioned doorman duties, I explained how to minimize them and other issues that come up with cats allowed to free roam. It's not rocket surgery

@SangosEvilTwin Okay, I had free-roaming cats for 42 years. All of them were neutered in good time. I had a motion detector with a receiver on the patio door in the living room. They always had to stay in the apartment at night. These measures meant that they led a carefree cat life and were able to live out their natural needs. Best wishes
