Fun fact: The Screamer is basically in constant torment. Their vocal cords are connected to their ear apparatus. So it's literally deafening scream both in and out.

@@17ambi and its not something you read, you can see in his ingame model he has a bunch of wires connected from his mouth to his chest speaker thing, and from his speaker to his headphones, its safe to assume, because of the way he acts ingame, he has extremely sensitive hearing and can only rest in complete silence, as he sleeps while not alerted

Outlast is a very solid horror franchise. The opening for Trials was very effective at setting the tone. Those night vision goggles being drilled onto the player was disturbing even though you didn't actually directly see it. The sound of the drill and the muffled cries of the main character were enough. Though, I am a bit disappointed that they decided to still have people collect batteries. I thought that since they got rid of the camera, they would get rid of that function. Maybe they didn't want the game to be too easy with infinite battery life, but the game is challenging enough with so much stacked against the main character. If they still wanted to have the character worry about such things, they could have made a compromise where the goggles needed to be charged by hand cranking them. That way the player does not have to worry about finding batteries, but they still have to take time to stop and charge their goggles.

For SCP fans who like the weirder side; you should watch the anime "Ajin". Its pretty crazy. Basically some people are kind of immortal and invincible because they have a shadow demon thing in them that can regenerate the host. So the Japanese government and other world governments catch these people and either use them in military units or experiment on them brutally. They like shoot them over and over letting them die, regenerate and die again. Ive gotta finish watching that show.

Never played Outlast, but this is a cool examination of the enemies! I think it'd be neat to see an examination of just what fucked up stuff has been done to some of these poor bastards you're fighting, lots of them seem to have various metal plates and components straight up grafted into their flesh. Perhaps Mike might stand a better chance if he were to... 'volunteer' for some more medical experimentation
