No one ever talks about my favorite moment!!! Right after Kyle tries to kill her, Ian carries her back to the hospital, and then just before he goes back for Kyle, he takes everyone by surprise and kisses her on the forehead. When I read that the first time, I FLIPPED. OUT. You have no idea. Because I adore love triangles, I adore the emotions they create, and it was set up so amazingly that I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE Ian was falling for her until that exact second! Do you know how hard it is, to bring in a love interest without it being obvious? Maybe I was clueless, idk, but I think something about the weirdness of their situation, the two-people-in-one-body thing, kept me from considering that Ian could fall for her. Yet, when he kissed her, it made perfect sense!!! All the pieces fell into place and I just got INSANELY EXCITED AND SHOCKED AND HAPPY and to this day that one sentence is my favorite thing I've experienced reading a book.

My favorite character is Jamie because he is so sweet to Wanderer/Melenie. My favorite scene is when they go to the hospital to get the supplies, and I liked it because it was really well written, and I liked how the characters developed and realized what they needed to do. I currently am trying to get my sister to read it, and she says she will after she reads Between the Sea and Sky.

This is the best book, ever. I have read it five times? and each time I comprehend it more, love it more, understand it more. It is so different, and it touches you so deeply. I feel hungover every time I read it. The first time I read it I was not so impressed. But now, I love it with each growing second. And I read that extra chapter from Mel's POV and damn. In the middle ish of the book I was sooo angry at Melanie. Escpecially when she wouldnt let wanda just be happy with ian. Grrrrr and.when mel.was mad at wanda for having feelings for Jared when its mels fault in the first place. I was pissed at jared when he went from horrible to extremely nice!! I wanted to punch him how cruel that was to wanda. He was only nice for Melanie. IAN IS MY FAVE. He is definitely the nicest most understanding of them all. He saw wanda as her own person and loved her not mel. I loved the way he would talk to mel directly and even argue with her. I loved how he didnt let anyone else touch her when she was getting placed in a new body. It made me cry so hard when he found out what wanda was going to.do with mel. The way he just sat in silence with wanda when she was mourning was so sweet and how he stopped eating when she stopped. Jamie was great too I really loved him. He loved them both equally and he was so adorable in the beginning. I thought I would never forgive kyle but when sunny showed up and he got all soft and caring i caved. He really changed and even tho he wanted jodi back he was still so considerate of sunny and I found it adorable how he wouldnt let go of her tank for anything. Jeb was one of my favorites he was so interesting, I loved how he ran the place and how he was always cheery. And I always laughed when he stroked.the gun, and when he yelled at jared and Kyle. I didnt like wandas new body I belive she deserved a stronger person because she is a strong soul. Also the body seemed so young, and too child like. Over all I loved the book and the ending.

I haven't read the book, so my opinions might be wrong, but from knowing the premise and from watching this video I know the following: It's Melanie's body, so even if she was a bad person, that doesn't make replacing her consciousness with Wanderer right. Plus, of course Jared would be mad at Wanderer, I would be mad too if someone tried to "kill off" my loved one and replace them. Wasn't Wanderer cruel to Jared for inhabiting Melanie's body? Another thought is, why is Ian "understanding" in your opinion? He just doesn't love Mel, so he doesn't care if she gets replaced/disappears, which is why he can afford to be understanding. But like I said, those are just my thoughts from hearing the main premise.

I loved both the part where Wanda finally tell Ian that she loved him [both cute and sad!] before giving Melanie her body back and THE ENDING! It is so nice to a fluffy cutesy ending once awhile. But when I found out she's continuing it, I SCREAMED. I am freaking excited to see more of the characters and the world!

At first I wasn't sure about reading this book, but once I did it has become one of my most favourite books ever. I just love the book so much and if there is anyone who wants to read it you definitely should pick it up and give it a try.

My favorite character was jamie, Melony's little bro, i just loved how he was always trying to be more mature but when he wasn't trying he was more mature. Like he wanted go out on the hunts and no one would let him and when they did he got hurt but when he meets melony/wanderer he was the only one who could completely accept them as two people in one body.and was perfectly happy to listen to all of wanderers stories and but say goodnight to both melony and wanderer. it was like total kid logic

My favorite scenes was when Wanderer and Melanie were trying to find Jared and Jamie and they were like trying to survive. My second was when Wanderer was at the hospital with the healer trying to get the medicine for Jamie. And I loved the end of the book. I cant wait for the second book and the movie ;)

OH MY FREAKING GOD!!! and when wanda found out the humans were like killing the souls, they had the crazy description with the bloody rooms and stuff, that was SO sad... and melanie dissappeared.... oh gosh.... oh, and I HATED the way they treated wanda when she first came ther! Like it was SOO cruel and sad, it made me CRY and then that annoying seeker got better treatmentlike what the heck. I read this a while ago, but these are just some major things that I remember OMIGOD I ovved this book!

Jared Padalecki as Jared Ian Somerhalder as Ian Sophia Bush as Melanie/Wanda i know many people pick the other Supernatural brother as Jared, but idk. this book is so awesome! i freaked out in the end (when you think Wanda's gone for good). Ian is such a sweetheart// my favorite part is probably when Ian declares his love for Wanda. i don't remember how it went 'cause i read it so long ago, but i know i loved it. haha OH MY GOD! i love your Cullen Crest wristband! I NEED one of those!!!

The beginning was a tiny bit too slow for me. Like I tried to read it in 7th grade and I just couldn't but this year I tried again and I realized how awesome it is! Mainly the thing with Wanda trying to get Melanie out in the very beginning I couldn't take cause it is so long. Overall one of my favorite books though!

I just started reading this book this year after I saw the trailer. At first I really hate Wanda because she's taking everything that Melanie only had. I dont know if i hated wanda but i didnt like her at the start cause she seemed like all she wanted to do was get rid of melanie, but that opinion changed quickly. This is my Fav. book, Luv the movie and cant wait for the sequel. Hmmm, My Fav. scenes were: The Goodbye at the end, The part when ians like: "its not the body, its what you do with it, When Ians like "you are not leaving me" When Jared and wanda go on a raid for cryotanks When wanda yells at jared for calling her 'it' Ect.

Wanda!!!! Ian!!!! Wanda! Ian! I liked Wanda from the beginning. I think I had to. She was never evil or anything, and I think that her siding with Melanie because of the dreams happened really quickly, so if even if I didn't like her, it wouldn't have lasted for long. 5:18- I totally agree with you. I've had a lot of bad things happen in my life, but I'm okay because I know it's gonna be repayed later cuz in my happy moments, I'll be happier than I would be w/out my bad moments. Wanda! Ian!

she's right. you shouldn't criticize people over the internet just because they don't know who you are and you can hide behind your cape of anonymity. my favorite part was when she woke up inside pet and was freaking out because she didn't want to be a parasite anymore and she slowly warms up to the idea of being able to stay with them and help them without causing what in her mind is pain.

In the beginning it was really boring for me. The only thing that kept me going is that I had to read It for school. But as I got to the good parts, I was barely able to put it down. It made me so sad when it ended.i seriously thought of the book every day for like two weeks after I finished. That's how big of an impression the host made on me. same thing happened the second time read it. I'm so excited for this movie!!!!! I'm freaking out!!!!!!!!!

I remember trying to explain this book to someone, and it hit me . . . The Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I really HATE that story. I've only ever seen the Donald Sutherland version, but I HATE the concept SO MUCH. How much I hate it, is how much I LOVE The Host. Stephenie's story is a zillion times better.

I don't like Wanda or Melanie better. I like how they both changed each other. Melanie gets a new perspective and is more caring and understanding. Wanda stops being a bland boring all good thing that has as much purpose in life as an ant does, and starts knowing what it really feels like to love real human love. Instead of random everyone is the same so I love everyone. It toughens her up.

If you take away Jared and Ian then it's about a Girl who's body has been taken over by an alien and is trying to get back to her little brother. It would be an awesome story without the romance side. With it it's even better.

Jared turned out to be selfish. He just wanted Melanie from the beginning, he didn't care at all about Wanda. He wasn't sad she was leaving, he was just happy he could be with Melanie again. But Ian really loves Wanda, he would do anything for her. Jamie loves them both, and he proves it every minute. But I was mad at Jared, he didn't try to think of another way to get Melanie back, he was so ready to sacrifice Wanda, after all she had done for them...

Science fiction isn't just about space it's about people, just done differently. Fantasy I love but it's sort of the same myths and legends done over and over again, vampires, magic, monsters etc etc, science is always changing so there are new ideas all the time. Space is infinite. And Wanderer is just following her nature as all species do, we all think what we do is right.

I just got done with this and i gotta say.It was slow as hell and i almost stopped.But it picked up when she made it to the cave and her uncle was there.It was kida like City of Bones for me because it was boring until Magnus got into it.But all in all its a ok book and i just dont see how the movie will be good because they dont do much.
