True, however from my perspective as my profession is a wedding photographer, I have seen this time and time again at weddings and if the guy is known to be like that with drink and the guest/friend/family member is aware, they are basically fuelling a fire that cannot be controlled without the aid of something (wife). So I can understand her annoyance and for me drinking early on your wedding day is a big NO NO!!! However you are right, he is a grown up and should know better but we have to look at his personality too

The bride shouldnt have married him either if she is going to get angry with his friends over him not controlling his alcohol intake. But that is probably why she is marrying him, because she knows he is weak-willed and easy to control, just like her brainwashed son.

I think that's why Christian was so dismissive and rude to the hotel inspector's because he had something to hide, a person with a guilt-free conscience wouldn't act like that.

Actually he seemed to be the most competent person there. At least he had the wedding organized, the orders under control, and was very supportive of the bride. Yes, he should have calmly told the wannabe hotel inspector that he was busy and would be happy to fill out the questionnaire once the wedding was over. She was relentless, insufferable, and very much out of her depth. Incompetence personified. The inspection process seemed bound to fail. Running around after the events manager with questionnaires when it was clear that he was the only person actually doing a decent job was absurd . Her people skills were absolutely lacking. that said that entire operation was absolutely a s..tshow! when I started watching this show I thought it was a comedy sketch. The hotel is a zero star operation, dead on arrival. The hotel inspectors, maybe one and a half stars. Bravo to the wife, son and the couple celebrating their golden anniversary.

People have a lot of sympathy for Mark because he's a lovable go getter, a sort of heroic bungler, but he does cause his own problems a lot of the time. Just hiring people on the spot without looking into their work history and so on. Ends up with a largely useless, incompetent staff and from there he's doomed. This Christian guy, for example, a couple of years after this, was arrested and convicted for fraud. He was skimming the till and stealing money from the hotel he worked at. Christian isn't even his real name. It was an assumed name, one of many. He has a history of changing his appearance and name, presumably to evade authorities and preventing potential new employers from looking into his past. I do like Mark's sort of innocent, earnest and hard working nature, but he is his own worst enemy too.

I loved the tickles. They where fantastic and they showed us that the key to long happy marriage is to have a laugh and joke see the bright side of everything and I love how she kept correcting him but he took it on the chin an would say “oh yeah” lovingly. These days I think we are all so defensive.

There was a tv crew filming her, and she’s telling secrets. She’d have to know that the ‘ Faulty Towers’ 😂’ manager would watch it. And that other couple that booked in same time as inspectors did. Jordy de Ridder I think all the cameras were fixed, so there won’t be any camera crew anywhere. You can see the cameras on the walls from time to time. I think that really helped the documentary to be so natural.
