Perhaps I could offer some clarification on something which has come up a few times during the course of these messages relating to the program, straight from the horses mouth if you like. The comment which was made regarding speaking Spanish, was that I'd had some 'get you by' Spanish prior to meeting my Missus, and that I had been studying hard (Meaning Portuguese) ever since. This program was filmed 10 years ago, myself and my wife have been fluent in each other's native tongues for many years.. And yes, are still together (And despite having had this 'Green Card' for a number of years now... Yeah, You know who you are. Lol). We have multiplied to a family of 4, and no signs of any divorce papers coming through as yet. All the very best then (Especially to Richard and Rebecca if you should read this.. Indeed anyone else who took part in the shows, it would be nice hearing from you actually). Simon, from the show. P.S. To the fella who piped up a little more than most, and whom had stated that 'He is a China Man' and 'would eat his hat' - 'if it was going to last'. Well Mr Chan, 10 years passed since, I reckon you'd best get some salt & pepper on that cap of yours kidda. Film it, post it. Cheers.

175 pounds. That's atrocious. The amount of various work they expect that guy to do for such a pathetic wage is insightful. This is why they don't get English people wasting all of their time working there. There's such a low standard of living that comes with that job. Romanians appear to appreciate it as it may be better than what they can expect to receive in Romania. However, they probably find out that on balance, it's just not worth it and they just get stuck from week to week. You can't have any hopes or dreams on that money. You're essentially destined to play video games in your spare time in a flea-infested apartment with no savings, living week to week, being told to be thankfull and that you're actually the lucky one.

They get accommodation, so they will have most of their wage at the end of the week. How many people do you know that do. Hotels are renowned for low wages. If english got off their arses in the past and took these jobs the wages would most probably be higher.
