The HOTO DIY Toolkit is a one-stop solution for those new to tools but want to do it themselves. Other HOTO tools I've worked with are pure art and function. Making a DIY tool kit designed to be as pleasing to look at as to use, There is a large segment of the population would be me more likely to use this HOTO kit over a chest full of Snap On tools.

I quite like this. As a gift to someone who would be building ikea furniture or hanging the odd picture this is all they are ever going to need. Basic enough and designed well enough to get the task done. That’s all it needs to be done. The only item I see missing from here maybe is a Stanley knife. I’d feel comfortable leaving this with my wife when I’m on work trips, don’t want here picking up my 7” grinder and giving it a go. Ideal set!

I think we all got used to specific aesthetics of tools, and seeing something that looks so nice makes me assume it underdelivers. That's why we have channels like yours, to hear how good they really are 😊 I don't know how common it is in the US but here it's not that uncommon to meet single moms, and some women have a bit of a "block" from tools. Something so nicely presented can break that block

That’s very nice, especially the multi-purpose pliers and the hammer bumper. I keep the IKEA version in my camper and find it is quite useful. One thing none of these kits seem to offer is a large adjustable jaw plier. Most small homeowner plumbing repairs are a lot easier with even an 8” version.

No reason to hate on this. Looks like this covers some basic tasks around the house competently. Kits like this are as old as the big box stores. You hit the nail on the head, it's a housewarming gift for someone who has nothing and needs to start somewhere. The closest thing to a gripe I have is the drill is some unicorn that won't be be compatible to whatever battery system should that homeowner get more serious into DIY but whatever. We all have a battery screwdriver or 2 that you have to plug in to a wall wart that's kind of it's own niche use.

Nice little kit for a new apartment owner. The drill is kinda cool. This is a nice kit for putting some new furniture together, hanging pictures and the like 👍 (And yes that Milwaukee m18 hammer drill is a BEAST! That’s my go-to for heavy stuff as a homeowner)

The hammer is the most interesting. It reminds me of the Wiha electricians hammer. Small, flat, flat top head. But the Wiha does not have a soft cover. The soft head I wish were on all hammers because it is so light and saves carrying two hammers. Pretty sure I have seen long nose pliers similar, but not quite the same.

That hammer for the every day DIY'er is a great design. Wish they sold it separately. It looks to be a good weight and length for the small at home tool bag.The rubber "mallet" cover is very helpful for furniture assembly crowd. The nail starter is probably more suited for framing type work and the hammer isn't, but is a nice to have feature. Your videos are excellent and they have helped me assemble the perfect DIY tool bags for me and my friends. Thank you.

TBH I am extremely hopeful that tools like this will bring an overall change to tool design with some brands launching competing tools (at a competitive price). Xaiomi has been doing well his solo for a bit. Edit: having owned some of their stuff, quality has been improving at an appreciable rate, though I do not like dealing with a single company pseudo owning an overall vertical. Someone compete with them please…

A simple person needs a 200 dollar overpriced cheap Chinese tool set? Come on this is rubbish, nothing interesting about it. That drill alone is 150 bucks..... Not hard to find a better 12v drill for that kind of money. And for 200 bucks i can create a exact same tool kit with hand tools from the premium hand tools brands with a 12v Bosch or what ever brand with multiple batteries. This video is marketing crap, sorry to say.

@@lastbesttool And whats friendly about these tools? I see regular simple hand tools with a regular 12v drill with a electronic clutch? Maybe im missing something? I mean i heard the whole bit about your M18 but your M18 has the same function with the slow start if you lower clutch settings. Its nothing special and most cheap drill/drivers have it because they are slow to begin with. If you need something simple as homeowner for little screws and drilling you get can even just get a 4v drill/driver. A while back i picked up a Bosch youseries 4v for shits and giggles cause it was on sale for 25 bucks. That thing sinks in 6x120mm T30 construction screws in studs, which a diy'er will never do.... And its as simple as they come, forward, backwards and a drill setting. You dont even need a clutch. This Hoto crap is overpriced Chinese junk or are you seriously telling me you would recommend people spending 150 bucks on that drill? Cause if you are then i know that well i can skip your videos in the future.

@@TheSir2005 He means tools for people who are afraid of getting their hands dirty, people who turn their nose up at the thought of a rough and tough hard working real tool that looks like it can take a beating. These are an accessory for young trendy types who might have an occasional task they just can't pay somebody else to do but don't want proper traditional tools that would be an eyesore next to all their decor for peer 1 imports for the other 364 days they're not getting used.

The hammer is small but the handle is smaller/thinker up near the head so that if you need to grip it there while working it your not gonna bang your knuckles. Nice attention to detail. The case is almost to clean/neat. All in all a decent kit that I would give my daughters when moving out.

I work bare handed with my motorcycle in oily, greasy situations but at the end of the day, I clean my tools back to shiny so whenever I use it again for light tasks, my hands won't be as dirty as the last. What's wrong with having clean, presentable tools? I love having tough tools but I also want them to look presentable - and clean.

Maybe answer questions like what you do/did for work, where ish in the US you live, what got you in the need for tools and a whole toolbox or if it’s related to your job, if you have any kids. Maybe small questions like that without revealing anything to personal. Also wanna know why you call yourself Doc hehe, were you a doctor? Your submariner couldn’t have been cheap. This kit seems like it would be a good gift for newlyweds or for someone moving to a new home. The biggest problem with most of the “starter” tool sets I’ve seen is that the tools themselves are of low quality. In this case, the company seems to have put a lot of thought into the tools’ selection and design. I have a minor quibble with the charcoal-grey color scheme. I realize they were going for a stylish look, but I’ve spent enough time looking for tools I had set down that I appreciate high visibility in tools. I’d like to see lime-green or lemon-yellow handles, or at least a bright-colored stripe across each tool. Nonetheless, they get props from me for not making the tools pink. I’ve seen dozens of “tools for her” kits where they sold cheap, flimsy tools colored pink or lavender, with the boneheaded idea that the color would make women like them. This seems very insulting to women. The tool-using women I know want tools that work. They don’t choose them by handle colors.

- Hey, bro, you've got that fancy looking toolkit, do ya? -Yes, this is an amazing stuff. I have paid $100 for it. This is top notch! The designer... - How about I borrow it? I gonna do some demolition in my place. - Oh no, it would get dirty. I do not want my hammer to get any scratches. My shiny drill will be full of dust. The box might break. I really can not... - Yeah man, you'd better put a protective glass on it and wrap it with some bubble foam and secure it in the closet. I'll use Knipex, Gedore, Milwaukee or Makita instead. The work has to be done with REAL TOOLS.

Tool sets like this are for people who live in an appartment in a gentrified neighborhood and only expect to maybe assemble some IKEA furniture once a year. I recently saw a thing about this guy who was upset because his little boy was showing masculinity and was obsessed with trucks and tractors. This guy also said that the thought of wrenches made him sick. This is the kind of tool set he would probably want to buy, not to use but to display as some kind of statement.
