…In 2023 In Florida, USA, it took 9 months to get a 2023 Platinum Sienna. Ordered in Jan 2023 got in Oct 2023. They had to modify an existing build that was coming in. Why Toyota is screwing Canadians I don’t know. One guess is Hybrid’s don’t hold up well in cold temperatures, so Toyota doesn’t want to look bad.

Love my 2024 Sienna XSE! It’s getting 41.1 mpg in the city. The premium package came with memory seats that make my husband and I life easier. I have it for almost 8 months and no issues at all. Btw, I got exactly the same one. The interior is so cool.😊

In canada - been waiting since 2022 - told we *might* if we are lucky get one in 2025. We bought the grand highlander in the mean time, terrible for a family of six. The trunk is a shoe box. I wish they would make gas siennas again to pump more out. I have the hybrid in the highlander and it sucks. Not at all worth the extra nearly $5000 - uses 11 litres / 100km on the highway when it's cold. Definitely feels like a needlessly delayed situation.

The Sienna would be the most compelling van on the market without the wait times and markups. The price difference with markups between one and a comparable Odyssey (which has a more flexible interior) is such that you'll never make up the difference in cost with the gas savings.

Although cities near the USA do not get as cold as elsewhere in Canada, how much of a fuel economy decrease occurs for Toyota hybrids in -0 C temperatures? I assume the fuel savings disappears if the Toyota hybrid is driven in extreme temperatures. - 0 C / +30 C ... yes? no?

It's significant as the heating is not run off a heat pump. The AC compressor is electrical so minor change in hot weather. Heat pump should be standard like in the prime models of rav and prius.

The 2nd row seats are removeable using wrenches and a procedure to temporarily disconnect the 12- volt battery. You can find a KZbin video on how to do this. To prevent warnings in relation to the air bags and seat belts you can get resisters and insert them into the airbag wiring connectors etc. The part where the seats attach remains exposed. In summary, although it can be done it is not convenient. Apparently the Siennas now have airbags integrated into the second-row seat backs for side impact protection. Removable seats would compromise this safety feature. Also, the second-row seats are now long-slide. This lets passengers in the second row move their seats further forward, creating more legroom for third-row passengers or cargo space.

What you need to take in consideration is the cost of the battery replacements on the hybrids those can be very pricey

Hybrid battery is a lot less capacity than full EV battery therefore cost is only 25% -30% of a full EV battery. Moreover, hybrid gas engine and the hybrid battery working alternately, independently and together as needed depending on power demand or speeds of traveling therefore, the gas engine and battery of a hybrid vehicle last much longer than full ICE and full EVs. The engine and battery belong to my 2002 First Generation Toyota Prius still in almost new condition at 260K miles. Even the eCVT and suspension still original. However, the 12V gel battery for starting engine had to be replaced at very expensive price for a 12 V battery at around $250 - $350.

The other advantage of Chrysler products is that they have over 630 days inventory turns, which means you could be a lucky buyer to take immediate delivery in a few seconds with hefty discount, while the others, like the "poor built" Sienna, need to wait for months without discount. For the minivan market, Nissan was gone, Mazda was gone, GM was gone, Ford was gone, VW was long gone, Honda is not doing well due to its constant transmission problems (Uber drivers left Odyssey behind). So the only game in this sector is between Pacifica & Sienna. Which one will you buy? according to JD Power?

It's only hard to get if you can't wait like 3 months to get an ordered one from what the dealers in NJ & NY are saying As for looks the Chrysler Pacifica & Kia Carnival looks better especially from the back so the only two main things going for the Sienna is the MPG with AWD That said, I was hoping the 2024 Model would change that ugly Orange interior stitchen that doesn't match with anything to red like it looks in videos and at least put the rear windshield wiper back on the top tucked away so it looks cool like an SUV and less like a Mini van.. Also how difficult is it to just make the back seats removable and the middle seats slide all the way back into the floor so all the cargo space can be used since the middle seats are not removable any more

Actually, there have been many articles and videos about the Grand Highlander having approximately the same amount of interior space as the Sienna. So may as well stick to Toyota. Plus, you can't beat the reliability of Toyota. Why would he switch to a different brand? That being said, I hate hate hate the front look of the new generation Sienna. Such a drastic change from the 3rd generation. Big fat grille that takes up most of the face. Looks like a massive vacuum machine. So ugly. It was a step backwards not a step forward.
