I looked up the Japanese version and people want $20 to $60 a pack. I just found a pack of gillys on sale for $3.99. Maybe the Japanese maker should charge less and people wouldn't need to make cheaper versions...

Caught my season best largemouth on a green pumpkin 110 Gilly with 3/0 side hook and chin nail weight. Cast it to the deepest part of a lay down tree and saw my line twitch once on the initial fall and set the hook in a 20" 4 lb 10 oz bass. Undulating action is killer. I am sold!

I just found some green pumpkin 110s on sale and got the vmc ringed 3/0 to go with it. I also got nail weights in 1/16th I can cut down if needed. I can't wait to try them!

Very disappointed that Ike would prevaricate about the design of this bait. This bait is a total rip-off of the Issei Gillflat with better colors and scent added. . It's a good design, but It is not a new design.

Put some foam in the pocket or Alka seltzer, foam to make the tail float up Alka seltzer bubbles up and makes the bass mad..learned from grandfather

It’s a gill flat with some modifications that don’t infringe on the patent is my guess I would imagine those extra fins and rudders are part of the development that separates it from the gill flat

Very similar to Imakatsu javelin gill…..i got probably 10 packs of them different sizes and colors. I knew it’d only be a matter of time before berkley came out something similar. I mean they aren’t the same, but similar. Plus I know ike loves his jdm baits….. I’ll have to try these, but I kinda doubt they are going to replace my javelin gills, theres a way I rig them I been keeping secret as a weapon to catch big fish and kicker fish.

Gonna diffently try these Mike!!! 3 sizes is the knockout to me. But to say there is not any baits that aren't out there. There's a good reason why! Savage gear bluegills, but only one size, but there's are very realistic. They corned the market, with there 3 d image's. But the vertical drop and sinking vertically might be the game changer!!!!!! Can't wait to get my hands on some. Fishermen overlook little lakes, and ponds, where there is not shad, the forage is bluegills, and sunfish. I was deer hunting in Kentucky bout 30 years ago. There was a little pond, maybe 80 feet wide, 150 long, probably 10-15 feet deep. When sun came up and starting getting warm bout 10a.m. I keep seeing bluegills jumping and moving around next to bank. Bass had them pushed to bank!!!! I quit hunting and luckkey had a rod,n reel in my pathfinder with a tackle box. Littlest bass I caught was probably 2 sounds caught a 6 pounder too. So it's not only big lakes, it's little ones!!!!!

Really difficult to find these. All I could find yesterday was the small sunfish pattern, but bluegills are almost the sole forage in the farm ponds I fish in northern Indiana. I bought the sunfish, but I hope the bluegill pattern becomes available before summer in the north....

I was just watching that old big bait posse video of you guys out there just smacking them on huge huds that was just insane. Love you Ike! This looks exactly like the Imakatsu Java Gill to the point that if they have a patent I’d imagine you might hear from them. Up to and including the hole in the top of the head, in theirs they put a small bullet shaped float. The biggest difference I can see is the mid to back section and the little knobs that yours has. I’m a JDM freak so most folks don’t even know these exist! They encourage a #5 side hook, I’ve side hooked it, drop shotted it, and Carolina rigged it w great success. Dont get me wrong, I ordered some of the Berkeley but I think it is a for sure at least a Nod to the Javagill!

So they have 6 standard colors and 6 HD colors which are realistic patterns of forage which will help you match the hatch! The “honeycombs” really gives this bait an action like no other swims just like the real thing!

You can already get a jdm bait that is exactly designed like this already an is a complete rip off of the other brand like it looks so similar an exact like the other bait u could almost sue for copy right lmao. That's kinda sad companies are doing this and the bait is called "Gill Flat set by ISSEI" if u want see that this has been available since last year you can find them on the hook up tackle.

Give me one option, shame on these companies for designing baits that may/may not have different action, color scent etc. Before you know it, other companies will start making EWG hooks, stick baits, paddle tail swimbaits, I dont know where it would end? If a company already makes it, thats it no more! I mean can you even imagine a world where there are hundreds of options for similar products and the consumer is left to decide what they want..

Considering the design already exists- I doubt that. Look up a Issei Gill Flat jr.- not the gill flat swimmer- the original Issei Gill Flat. Almost an identical copy.
